Ordered to take time off, the workaholic surgeon reluctantly trades in her scrubs for a ski suit and heads to Wild River, Alaska. Gone is the buttoned-up girl Reed remembers. His sister’s best friend has blossomed into a strong, skilled, confident woman. She’s exactly what his search-and-rescue team needs—and everything he didn’t know he craved. The gulf between his life in Wild River and her big-city career is wide. But it’s no match for a desire powerful enough to melt two stubborn hearts…

I never in a million years thought that finding a lost pair of keys would lead to adventure.
All my life, I’ve been perfectly average. Compared to the rest of my high-achieving, type-A family, it feels impossible to stand out. While I’d love to make my big artistic dreams happen, I’m kind of stuck, thanks to a bunch of lame things like “affordable rent” and “keeping the internet on.” Dreaming doesn’t pay the bills. Freelance design work and part-time rideshare driving does. And it’s nice, for the most part. Finding a passenger’s thumb drive usually means reporting, returning, yay-hurrah-good-job-me. Except this time.
This time, I put the thumb drive in my computer. Hey, I’m just trying to be helpful! Suddenly a chat window pops up and the owner of the drive is bribing me to fly halfway across the world. Today. Turns out he’s the super hot fare I haven’t been able to stop thinking about…who just so happens to be Logan Weiss—the crazy-hot 29-year-old billionaire known as “the most eligible bachelor in tech”. What the hell am I even doing?
Mia Carter lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and spends her days enjoying nature, dreaming of the next travel adventure, knitting up unraveled plot threads, and playing way too many video games.
Hoping to vindicate her brother, botanist Gina Dunn poses as a nanny to the man she believes framed him. Even though she grew up in a dysfunctional home, how hard can it be looking after twin four-year-old boys? If she can nurture rare orchids, surely she can handle this.
Instant fatherhood hits contractor Will Sinclair hard when his twin sons he didn’t know existed come to live with him. The rebellious boys reject Will as their real dad, forcing him to turn to Gina, his new nanny, for her “expert” help.
Interacting with Will and his boys as a “daddy” coach, Gina starts to crave the family she’s always longed to have. But Will’s reaction when he learns of her deception isn’t her biggest fear––one of two men she loves is lying…
A sense of humor was a must when Karen taught elementary grades and Head Start, and she’s always loved books and movies that make her laugh. Karen’s Fish Out of Water series from Entangled Publishing deals with heroines thrust outside their comfort zones. Their first meetings with their heroes tend to be quirky. An English Lit major at the University of Washington, Karen now reads mostly genre novels. Contemporary and historical romances and mysteries are my favorites. She loves camping–out in the wilds and close to nature–with all the comforts of our motor home. Sitting by a clear mountain stream with a good book to read is her idea of heaven.

Amazon – 4 stars It follows the love story of Jared Fraser and Ivy Bennett. Fraser is heading off on holiday from Hobart in Australia to America for his first holiday overseas and he is quite a workaholic it seems so this is a big deal for him to do. On the way he meets Bennett who is hitchhiking after leaving her boyfriend. This book quickly gets emotional with Bennett’s storyline with her mother who she hasn’t seen in years and her ongoing feelings for Fraser. But Bennett isn’t the only one with issues. Fraser is secretly wrecked with guilt about his previous relationship. His former girlfriend was seriously injured in a car accident after a row over him not wanting to marry her and live with her instead. Personally I could understand where he was coming from. After all in this generation most people do live together and they are just as committed as married couples. But I still liked the former girlfriend. She seemed a nice person in many ways even if she was controlling and tried to pressure Fraser into marriage by guilt-tripping. It would have been so much better if they had just agreed they wanted different things and left each other but then that wouldn’t have added half as much drama to the story so kudos to the writer on that one. “

Jared Fraser, a landscape business owner in Hobart, Australia, sets out for a holiday to the USA to travel along the Route 66 in a motorhome. Looking forward to his first holiday overseas, he’s excited as he prepares himself for the journey. But little could’ve prepared him for crossing paths with a beautiful hitchhiker.
Will he be able to put his past aside and grab onto happiness?
Ivy Bennett thought leaving her boyfriend would be the hard part. It doesn’t take long to figure out how wrong she was. As she struggles with making a new start in her life, the last person she expects to lead her to happiness is a laid-back Australian on vacation.
But she will have to say goodbye again? And not only to Jared.
♥♦♥ EXCERPT ♥♦♥
Ivy enjoyed being with Jared. During their drive towards the Grand Canyon he told her of his home and described as much of Tasmania as possible. “I always imagined Australia to be hot with white beaches and beautiful water.” “That’s up in the north in Queensland,” he explained. “We have spectacular beaches as well. Tasmania is a small island in the very south. The last step before the Antarctica, so to speak.” “That sounds cold!” He laughed. “It clearly isn’t Queensland.” Settling his gaze on her, he continued, “But it has beautiful beaches as well. And a wonderful marine life. And the mountains. We have some stunning mountains in Tassie.” “Tassie?” “Tasmania.” “It sounds beautiful.” He agreed. “Yes, it is. One of the best places on earth.” Once they arrived at the National Park, they found a parking spot and walked towards the edge of the Canyon. She touched his arm to get his attention. Not that she needed to. His attentive nature drew her to him, and she couldn’t get enough of listening to him. “I feel bad that you pay for everything,” she said in a low voice. Jared waved his hand. “Nah. It’s only money and luckily the Australian dollar is—” “Whether you can or can’t afford it, it doesn’t matter. I don’t like it.” He stopped and turned towards her, causing heat inside her body. Her breath caught but she kept walking, yet, it took him only a few steps to catch up with her and, by way of placing his hand on her shoulder, to stop her. “Wanna tell me why?” Avoiding his stare, she lifted her shoulder in a casual shrug. “A shrug is not really an answer, ya know that, right?” Yes, she knew that. How could she tell him that she’d left Dylan because he’d spent all the money she’d worked so hard for? She didn’t want to be in the same situation, as in spending someone else’s hard-earned money. But deep inside she didn’t want to hurt Jared, either. She was enjoying her time with him so much, she wasn’t ready for it to end because of some silly pride. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a little squirrel in the bushes and despite some guilt inside, it was a perfect distraction. “Look!” she said louder than she’d intended. “A squirrel.” With great relief, she noticed how her devious plan had worked. Jared quickly grabbed his camera and kneeled down to get the best shot possible of this little creature. Kneeling next to him, she asked, “Don’t you have squirrels?” Still trying to get that perfect photo of the little creature, he whispered, “Nope.”
People say when you’re dying your entire life passes before your eyes.
But it is not my time.
I’m not about to take my final breath.
Although it feels like the end of my life.
The blue folder sits, stamped with bold black letters.
Laughing at me. Mocking my marriage. Targeting my dream.
All is going away, imploding. The future I’ve envisioned becoming just debris.
The man I love requesting a divorce.
Making me collapse.
Drowning in an ocean of pain and confusion, I refuse to let this end my life.
This is hard, but I’m stronger.
The rainstorm is hitting me full force, but I’ll stand.
After all, I’m the woman who owns the sunshine.
Author, wife, and mother of a girl and a puppy. I love the happily ever after. Believer & dreamer. I live in my own world, sipping Ginger Ale and lime. I’m always plotting my next book, coloring pages, and reading.
