Iris, thanks again for having me back here at the blog. It’s always great to visit!
Readers, I’m celebrating the release of Cowboy in Charge, another book in the Hitching Post Hotel series. The book debuts July 1 and this time will appear simultaneously in the US, UK, and Australia. Though it’s part of a series, as with all the books, it stands alone, with the hero and heroine reaching their Happy Ever After by the end of their story.
From the cover of Cowboy in Charge:
TIMING IS EVERYTHING
Single mom Layne Slater thought she’d seen the last of Jason McAndry when he chose the rodeo over her and their unborn son. Now Jason’s back in Cowboy Creek and just as handsome as ever. But Layne can’t give in to those feelings again. She has to protect her children…and her heart.
Jason wants to try to make up for the pain he caused when he left. The least he can do is help Layne while he’s home. Before long, Jason realizes he’s finally ready to be the husband, father and man his family deserves. But can Jason prove to Layne that this time, their love is forever?
Jason’s return has caught Layne at a very bad moment. She just wants him gone. Unfortunately, he has other ideas…
“I’m just standing around taking up space,” he said. “My cooking skills stretch as far as opening a can and putting a pot on the stove.”
“Thanks,” she said stiffly, “but we’ll do just fine on our own. I hate to ask you to leave…”
I want you to go. Her eyes, looking like a couple of cold blue stones, got her point across as loud and clear and emphatically as her words had done a few years ago. Then, he had turned and walked out. Because he’d been a complete ass. Not without provocation, however. Seeing his packed bags at the front doorstep when he got home had warned him what to expect. Layne’s response when he’d entered the apartment had underscored the message.
She looked past him to the boy and then back again. Now her gaze didn’t quite meet his. “All right. The soup’s not from a can. It’s homemade. And the bowl is on the top shelf of the fridge.” The baby let out a screech.
He half turned to the boy. “Come on, pardner, let’s go get you some supper.”
The boy looked at his mama, who offered him a nod of encouragement. Then he gave Jason a long, frowning look. “Okay,” he said finally, his brow clearing. Getting that seal of approval made Jason stand taller. “Soup for Scott for supper.”
“Yeah. Show me the way to the kitchen.” The boy took off at a trot past the playpen. Jason’s boots pounded against the bare flooring as he followed at almost the same speed. He sure didn’t want to be around to watch Layne taking care of the baby.
Red nose, rumpled hair and bloodshot eyes aside, she was still the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen. Seeing any more of her as she opened her robe would only stir up memories best tucked away for good.

As Eden and Trace grow closer, confessing their pasts to each other, will they be able to resist getting too close?
“You’re studying to be a priest?”
He made himself meet her eyes. “I am a priest.”
She let go of his hand and stepped back.
Her smiled was tight. “I’m glad you found your path.”
He couldn’t quite read her expression. The distance between them felt like a gorge chiseled into the earth.
“Are you all right, Maylynn?” he asked.
“I’m really happy for you.” Then she added, “Father Aiden.”
For some reason, her words stabbed him in the gut. He usually liked when people used his title—it seemed to imply a certain amount of trust.
“I’m sorry, Maylynn.” He wasn’t entirely sure why he was apologizing. He just didn’t like to see her uncomfortable.
“I’m happy for you,” she repeated.
Then he realized what the problem was. He hadn’t anticipated this.
He moved closer. “I’m so sorry.”
Her forced smile finally dropped. “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
“It didn’t occur to me…”
“That I might be attracted to you?”
“Why aren’t you wearing your collar?” Anger prickled the edge of her voice.
“My mother’s last wish was that I find my father. I’ve been following her notes. She was convinced he was somewhere in this area.”
“Wait… Your mother’s name was Adalina?”
He nodded. With the number of times the shelter was mentioned in the notes, he figured his mother and Maylynn had met.
Anger flashed in her eyes. “You still should’ve told me.”
“Why’d you play with me like that?”
“I swear that wasn’t my intent.”
“You knew damn well what was going on. Was it a game—see if you still had it? If you could still get the chicks?”
Under the anger in her eyes, he saw the hurt. He swore he could feel it exactly, as if it was his own.
He shifted even closer, just in front of her. “I’m sorry,” he said again. His voice lowered, quieted. “I didn’t see what you were feeling because I was fighting so hard myself. I still am.”
“What I felt the first time I saw you, what I’m still feeling.”
She waited, glaring at him.
“I’m attracted to you,” he said. “Intensely.”
Cheerleading Can Be Murder
by Carissa Ann Lynch
Release Date: April 5th 2016
Summary from Goodreads:
Getting on the cheerleading squad is hard enough without a psycho on the loose…
For Harrow High freshman Dakota Densford, life should be easy. All she has to worry about is talking to cute boys and remembering her locker combination. But when cheerleading tryouts draw near, she learns the cards are stacked against her—spots on the varsity team are limited. Dakota faces her competition head-on, but when her life is threatened, that takes the competition to a whole new level.
High school is never easy, and freshman year is off to a rough start…
Between Dakota’s uniform being ripped up and masked vandals trashing another girl’s house, everyone is suspect. To complicate matters further, Dakota has a thing for Andy McGraw, but she finds him locking lips with another girl.
The harassment continues, and when Dakota finds suspicious flyers inside her best friend’s locker, she doesn’t know what to think. The principal’s unfeeling, overachiever daughter, Brittani Barlow, will do anything to secure her place on the team. But Dakota’s neighbor, on the other hand, definitely fits the profile of a sociopath.
Cheerleading has become a game of life or death.
About the Author
Besides my family, my greatest love in life is books. Reading them, writing them, holding them, smelling them…well, you get the idea. I’ve always loved to read and never considered myself a “writer” until a few years ago when I couldn’t find a book to read and decided to try writing my own story. With a background in psychology, I’ve always been a little obsessed with the darker areas of the mind and social problems so I try to channel all of that into my writing. I’m the author of the Flocksdale Files trilogy, the Horror High series, Grayson’s Ridge, and This Is Not About Love. I reside in Floyds Knobs, Indiana with my husband, children, and massive collection of books.

Today, in the A to Z Challenge, we give the stage to the letter T. T can stand for many things: talking, torment, twins–any one of which I could’ve blogged about, but instead I chose to write about two. Two what? you ask. Two books with the same title, written months apart by two authors who didn’t even know one another at the time the books were written.
The two books in question are both titled, Echoes of the Past, and the authors are myself and Iris Blobel. That’s right. A Canadian author and an Aussie one–how much farther apart can you get? The world really has shrunk!
So, let’s look at the books. Here is ECHOES OF THE PAST by Iris Blobel. It’s part of her Fermosa Bay Series, Book #1. The contemporary romance was released February 16, 2016.
About the Book:

When Connor receives news that his biological father is terminally ill, he returns to Fermosa Bay, Australia.
