#SnippetSunday “Quickly, she checked her emails.” #Bookish #Sundayblog #amwriting

♥ Happy Sunday ♥
Time to emerge from my hiding hole. September was a bit tough after the passing of my father-in-law only shortly after his 91st birthday.
So our holidays in Tasmania to relax and recharge couldn’t have come at a better time.
I’m continuing with my latest WIP which is set near
Lake Tekapo, New Zealand.
Enjoy ♥

Lake Tekapo, NZ

Lani stood there for a long while before she returned to her own room. She unpacked a sandwich and ate it as she read through the information folder. It had the touristy details in it like main phone numbers for police, hospital, and emergency. It also listed some local activities and recommended a few restaurants. There was also some housekeeping as to where the main exits were in case of a fire, times for breakfast, which in her case was now irrelevant until the weekend, instructions on how to light a fire, and, yes she admitted she was grateful for it, a log in for a modem connection. She placed the folder back on the bedside table and grabbed her phone to connect it. And the relief was instant as soon as the little indicator told her she’d been successful. Quickly, she checked her emails and then the local time in Melbourne. They were only three hours behind. She opened another app and called her grandmother.
