#SnippetSunday “Why on earth was she here anyway?” #Sundayblogshare #Romance

Happy Sunday ♥
I hope you’re enjoying my latest WIP which is set near
Lake Tekapo, New Zealand.
Enjoy ♥

And (she) walked along the road. It would’ve been so much better and less boring if she had charged her headphones.
So she walked. Occasionally looking over her shoulder, hoping for a car to come along. But then again, she promised her grandma she wouldn’t talk to strangers.
Why on earth was she here anyway?
To meet her father. It was enough incentive to keep going.
After a little more than an hour Lani was able to see the house in the distance. Relief rushed through her. She was thirsty and tired. And with the sun already setting over the mountains, it was about time to reach her destination. Although tempted to take another couple of pictures, she kept going.
She liked the house, despite being so far away from civilisation. It hadn’t looked that isolated on the map when she first looked for accommodation. But it was ideal and close to where she needed to go. Or in this case to find someone.
Lani stepped closer and onto the front porch. The quietness around was only disturbed by the sound of a few insects buzzing around. A shiver ran down her spine as she moved to the front door and knocked. There were no lights inside the house. It was still light, yet, she would’ve expected one or two lights on already inside.

  1. I’m intrigued to know more. Tension is building as she takes the path toward her destiny. Whatever that may be. Hopefully, her father is all she’s hoped for. He’s so far from civilization. Probably not a smart move for her to go alone.

    1. Thank Karen. She’ll be fine. After all, it’s set in NZ 😉 Glad you liked the snippet!
