#SnippetSunday “She was going stir crazy.” #freeread #Sundayblog #freeread

Happy Sunday. I’m continuing with my WIP, another Alinta Bay story. Jonah and Maddie are still stuck in the lift. I moved into Maddie’s POV today.
Enjoy ♥

“I have to admit I’ve never heard of them, but then again, I have to also admit I wouldn’t have much of a clue when it comes to African tribes. Sorry.”
She tilted her head and studied him. He was indeed a fine specimen of an adult. Very fine. With a bit of an accent. And some honesty.
“I don’t know much about them, either,” she admitted. “Just the part that I’m named after them. But,” she flashed him a smile, “the song is great, too.”
He hitched a shoulder. “I suppose if you like this kind of music.”
Maddie’s gaze went to the ceiling as she took a few deep breaths. This time because his response caused some irritation. Why had he mentioned the song in the first place? She closed her eyes and tried to think of something. Anything to keep her mind off the current situation she was in. She was going stir crazy.
“Okay,” she blurted. “I’m done with silence. Tell me, I can hear an accent. New Zealand?”

    1. haha, Ed, I know what you mean. It took me a while, too, to get the hang of it. I suppose it’s a little like me admitting that I cannot hear the difference with a US American and a Canadian. 😉
