I started this story a few weeks ago and I hope you’re enjoying it so far. I’m not sure where it’s heading, so any comments / critique is more than welcomed. I moved a little forward, back into Lexie’s POV.

Enjoy ♥

Lexie lifted her hands and checked them. They were still red and itchy from the eczema. How she would’ve loved to touch Jesse’s hand, even if just for a brief moment. And even just for not being rude, after all, he’d stopped for them and had been so kind. But it was like a routine to hide her hands in front of others. Walking around with gloves, sometimes even in summer. With her shoulders slouched, she headed into her bedroom, glad that her skin condition was at least getting better. The doctor had diagnosed it as a stress condition, and stressed she had been the last couple of months. And it was such a relief to see how it improved from day to day since moving to Beauty Bay. She picked up her tube of cream and gently rubbed it over her hands. Eric had often complained about her hands and she would’ve loved to blame him for it. Alas, she hadn’t.
It seemed not only her heart needed healing, her body did, too.

Thanks for all your comments,
I do appreciate each single one of them!

  1. I used to have a mild case of eczema, and it was definitely stress related. When I left my job of 11 years, the eczema went away. In hindsight, I guess I should’ve left the job earlier.

    1. Sorry to hear about your eczema, but I’m glad it comes across plausible. And, yes, stress can do a lot of damage. Often we notice too late how the body is suffering. Hope you’re living a stress-free life nowadays!

    1. Yes, I think it’s a good thing she’s left him behind and is moving on. Stress is evil, no doubt about it.

  2. Stress can wear a person out. I hope she gives herself time to heal her body and heart. Great snippet.

  3. Stress causes all sorts of physical problems. Emotional and physical health are more closely intertwined than modern medicine wants to recognize, although it’s getting better.

    1. I blame a lot of my recent health issues on stress, even though there’s no research to proof it. It’s a evil and can do a lot of damage. Thanks for stopping by, PT.
