#SnippetSunday “Who says I’m a ghost?” #amwriting #BookSunday #mustread #Ghosts

Happy Sunday.
I’ve moved on to another WIP. It’s just an idea at the moment, so bear with me for the first few posts.
Enjoy ♥

Today’s Snippet

With a nod, he responded in a mere whisper, “Hannah, I’m not real.”
Unable to respond, she gaped at him for a long beat. “You do know, ghosts don’t exist,” she muttered at last.
The side of his mouth pulled up in a charismatic smirk. “Who says I’m a ghost?”
There was no way she was able to follow this conversation without her morning coffee. And what happened to her lazy day? This was worse than a day’s worth of patients.
Without any sound he stepped next to her, and as scary as it should’ve been, it wasn’t. Hesitating, he reached for the knife and returned it to the wooden block and then took her hand into his.
She flinched as his freezing cold hand touched hers. “You are—”
“Not real,” he explained again. “You are in the medical profession, everything is black or white for you, but for just a little while I will need you to try and open up a bit.”
“I need coffee,” she sighed. Still overwhelmed by what he was implying, not to mention his freezing cold hand, which by the way were still holding hers, she switched on the kettle. “May I offer you a coffee as well?” she croaked.
He shook his head. “No thanks, but make yourself a drink for on the go. I’d like to take you somewhere.”
Bad enough that she had a stranger in her house, and yes despite knowing his name he very much wasn’t just a stranger, but strange as well, yet the idea of going somewhere with him sounded oddly alluring. “Where to?”
