Happy Sunday.
I hope you liked last week’s first snippet of Piper’s story,
another Alinta Bay book.
If you did, please feel free to check out the first books here.
Enjoy ♥
Today’s Snippet
There was some silence before he finally spoke. “Hello Piper. I think we met at Kristen’s Christmas barbeque last year. When you say desperate, can you clarify as in how desperate and whether it’s a legal issue.”
Slightly taken aback by the way he approached her plea for help, she replied, “Desperate as in on a scale from one to ten, I’d say fifteen, and as for legal …” She paused trying to find the right words. “My husband emptied our joint bank account and sold our house leaving me with nothing from the end of next week.”
Again there was a silence, but he heard him whisper, but not to her. It took a moment until he said, “Can you come to my office in about thirty minutes?”
She nodded, more to herself. “Most certainly. Just a little heads up, I’m desperate for help, but it might be a while until I’ll be able to pay your fees.”
He let out a soft chuckle. “The fact that you’re bringing up the payment of fees while in this unfortunate situation, tells me that I won’t have to worry too much about it.”
Relief flooded her, so intense, she had to lean her head against the head rest. “I’ll see you in thirty minutes.” She took a deep breath and added, “Thank you so much.”
Thanks for all your comments,
I do appreciate each single one of them!

Oh, she must be desperate. What a horrible thing for her husband to do.
Thank you. Yes, it is indeed.
Excellent excerpt, I like him already. You really make us feel for your poor heroine – terrific story going on here.
Aww, thank you Veronica for your kind words. Very encouraging to keep going with the story. 🙂
Your heroine definitely grabs our sympathy, and the hero (for I assume this is he) comes across as suitably heroic.
Thank you Ed, I’m glad you enjoyed the snippet. Harrison is the hero in Alinta Bay #. He’s a lovely guy and appearing, equally helpful, in Alinta Bay #4 coming out soon 🙂
That is so horrible what her husband did. I had a friend that her husband did the same thing. It was awful for her and kids.
Oh no, that’s terrible. I hope she’s okay now.
She’s in a bad spot, but it sounds like she has someone who can help.
Yes, she has … hopefully 😉
