Love the Wine you’re with
by Mary E. Thompson

He could be just what she needs…

Alyssa Wright has one goal before she leaves for co

llege. She refuses to go carrying her v-card. She just has to find someone to give it to in the next six weeks.

When she runs into Jake Monroe, almost literally, she knows he’s different. She thinks about him constantly, and not in the way she’s thought about any other guy.

She might be what he’s looking for…

Between his new job and helping his best friend’s widow, Jake doesn’t have time for romance. But there’s something about Alyssa he can’t resist. He’s torn between the light Alyssa brings to his world and the promise he made to his best friend.

Is it enough to keep them together… forever?

What they want doesn’t matter. There’s a ticking clock, counting down the days until Alyssa leaves. Maybe for good.

Excerpt

“Come here,” he said gently, reaching for her. She went into his arms and rested her head on his chest, listening to the quickened beat of his heart. He was still hard, throbbing against her stomach at the same rapid pulse.

Wordlessly, his hands caressed her body. An innocent brush of hair from her neck. A simple stroke of her spine. Then a tightening of his hold on her. A lingering of his fingers on her waistband. A quickening of his breath. A need pulsing between them that neither of them could deny any longer.

Alyssa tipped her chin up to him the same moment he leaned down to claim her mouth. His kiss was different. Not gentle and sweet like the others. Possessive. Needy. He was taking ownership of her, demanding that she become his.

She met him with each stroke of passion. His hands slid down her back and cupped her ass, lifting her until she had no choice but to wrap her legs around his waist. The breeze blew up her skirt, cooling her skin until she felt the hard fabric of his shorts pressing into her. “Oh, God,” she moaned, breaking away from their kiss. Bolts of desire shot through her, giving her the first taste of what pleasure would be like with Jake.

His lips went to her neck, feasting on the skin she never knew was so sensitive. Her hips rocked on their own, rubbing her against his erection as he devoured her neck and drove her mad. She didn’t know what she needed, but she needed something. From him. Of him.

Author Bio

Mary E. Thompson grew up loving to read, like a good little girl. Many nights she would fall asleep with the flashlight still turned on as she hid under the covers trying to finish the last few pages of a book. As an adult, the light from her ereader means she doesn’t need a flashlight, but she still stays up way too late to finish a book.
When Mary’s not reading, she’s playing with her two kids or living out her own real life romance novel with her hubby. She has a weakness for chocolate, especially when it’s paired with peanut butter, and has been known to have a bad day just because there’s no chocolate in the house. Unless there’s wine. Then everything is okay.
Mary grew up in Buffalo, New York and swears she’s the only local to never ski or snowboard. Soccer was always her sport, with a couple adventures white water rafting and skydiving to keep things interesting. Mary moved to South Carolina for college but missed Buffalo every day. Yeah, she thinks she’s crazy, too. She somehow convinced her South Carolina born and bred hubby to return to Buffalo to raise their kids and live out their lives. He’s still not sure what he was thinking.

#MFRWHooks “The bride is late,” #romance #mustread #amreading

♠♠  OUT NOW  ♠♠
The 3rd book in the Beginnings series was released last week, and I’d love to get “you hooked” with some snippets.
Enjoy ☺

Today’s Hook:

Mia let out a loud laugh, which earned her a glare from Mark, who stood at the front next to Zach. It had surprised everyone that Zach had asked him to be his best man. Although what could one expect from a family which was pulled together in so many odd circumstances. Mark O’Connor was Sophie’s husband, Mia Levesque’s brother-in-law, and little Hope’s dad. And Jared’s best buddy.
“For what it’s worth, there’s a huge difference,” Jared said, but he was instantly shushed by Mark’s parents who sat one row behind them.
Rolling his eyes, he went back to admiring his floral arrangements, toying with the idea of adding this service to his business. Possibly with the help of a staff member.
“The bride is late,” he heard someone say behind him. He had a guess it was Olivia, Mia’s best friend, who was always straightforward.
But as if on cue, the doors opened, and the bride entered the church.
Natasha looked beautiful in her lace-up, white chiffon dress. It was ruched at the back and emphasised her slim figure. She’d let her black hair grow and wore it in a French twist with pearls beaded into it. A delicate tiara graced her hairstyle.
Of course, he wouldn’t have known all the details if she hadn’t told him and shown him pictures as well as sketches so he would have had an idea for the flowers. Now that she was walking down the aisle, goose bumps spread across his skin. She looked stunning, and with a grin he leaned back, satisfied the lily-bouquet looked much better than any roses would have.

BLURB:
Jared Fraser, a landscape business owner in Hobart, Australia, sets out for a holiday to the USA to travel along the Route 66 in a motorhome. Looking forward to his first holiday overseas, he’s excited as he prepares himself for the journey. But little could’ve prepared him for crossing paths with a beautiful hitchhiker.
Will he be able to put his past aside and grab onto happiness?
Ivy Bennett thought leaving her boyfriend would be the hard part. It doesn’t take long to figure out how wrong she was. As she struggles with making a new start in her life, the last person she expects to lead her to happiness is a laid-back Australian on vacation.
But she will have to say goodbye again. And not only to Jared.

#SnippetSunday – “Damn, she wished that girl would leave him be.” – #romance #love #read #Free

Hello and happy Sunday … Thanks for stopping by.

Today’s snippet is from “I think I Love You”, book 3 of the Australian Sports Stars series. I moved forward a little to the reception. This is Sarah’s POV.

Enjoy ♥

accent-clipart-13309573511112670181decorative-lines-2_large

When she heard the start of the next song, an old ballad from the nineties, she opened her eyes and looked around. Oddly enough, her gaze fell on Markus straight away. Sarah still couldn’t believe how sexy he looked in the tuxedo. She smiled, because she’d seen him in his surf shorts, sans T-shirt often enough, but that tuxedo did something to her—or to him—that got her heart racing a little. Tilting her head a little, she studied him. As Markus was laughing at one of the guys’ jokes, she noticed his dimples even from the distance. He got them from his father, she thought. Very slowly an unfamiliar sensation crept up within her. It took her a moment to figure out the reason for it was the blonde girl next to Markus, trying desperately to get his attention.
Jealous?
Couldn’t be. She’d never been jealous of Markus’ girlfriends before, so why would she be today? Damn, she wished that girl would leave him be.
A long sigh escaped her.
Tired, she squeezed another little bit of lemon into her tea as she watched all the couples on the dance floor.
“Aww, baby, that’s your second cup of tea now. What’s the matter?” Markus asked as he sat next to her.
Startled, Sarah nearly spilled the tea.
Yet, the few simple words and his presence made her feel better already. As long as she was able to remember, Markus had called her baby. Initially, it had annoyed her, because she’d been so proud of having finally reached teenage years, but nowadays…nowadays she reeled in the comfort of their closeness.

Thanks for all your comments,
I do appreciate each single one of them!

EXCERPT:

I held my breath for a beat and tilted my head to press my lips against his. Our mouths parted, fitting softly together at first, until he kissed me harder.

He tasted so good, my body pushed closer. Our lips knew each other. I moved on top of his lap, my legs on either side. His warmth, his crisp citrus scent. This was what kissing someone should feel like.

Hormones, pheromones, love, whatever it was, washed over me. I needed this man. I wanted to feel this way every hour of every single day.

My hand found its way up the back of his shirt. His skin ran hot. The ocean roared. I heard voices talking low, a couple walking by us.

His hand pressed into the small of my back. His other hand grabbed at the nape of my neck. He whispered, “I love you, Hope.”

I froze. He tried to kiss to me again. He couldn’t, not with my lower lip firmly entrenched in my teeth. I bit down with such force, I worried I’d draw blood. Why was he doing this to me? Why was I allowing it to happen?

His amber-green eyes looked into mine.

Tears pooled against my lashes.

“I wish you could feel what I’m feeling,” he said, “so you’d know it’s true.”

#BlogTour “Fall From Grace” by Michelle Gross @AuthorMichelleG @StarAnge13 #FallFromGraceTour

  Title: Fall From Grace

Publication Date: November 1, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Cover Designer: Mayhem Cover Creations
#FallFromGraceTour

Our first goodbye wasn’t our choice.
Our second was…
What do people say about third chances?

I would never forget the moment I met Noah at six years old,
nor would I forget the way I grew into myself next to him; with him.
I didn’t want to forget the way he kissed me for the first time or the way we were two kids pretending it was okay to do adult things.
What I did want to forget was the reason I walked away… and how he had to let me go.
Loving you had a consequence that was too much to bear.
Now I was an empty shell, half of who I was, who I want to be…
And I came back home after four long years and this time, I knew you weren’t going to let me go.
I’m afraid… because remembering why I walked away from our love in the first place was the hardest part of all.
But in order for you to understand my relationship with Noah, I have to start from the beginning… Before our love had a price, before they called our love “puppy love”, before I fell from grace…

I was the happiest when I was with him.

Funny how my feet felt like lead the days I left you, Noah… But now that I was back, they only felt like running.

This is a standalone romance that tells Grace and Noah’s story starting at age six, but don’t let that detour you from reading their story. This is a book meant for adults, and deals with mature themes. It’s a story about two kids loving each other and proving that maybe when you meet the one, you just know, even if you’re a kid.

Michelle is from a small town in Eastern Kentucky where opossums try to blend in with the cats on the porch and bears are likely to chase your pets—this is very true, it happened with her sister’s dog. Despite the extra needed protection for your pets, she loves the mountains she calls home. She has a man and twin girls who are the light of her life and the reason she’s slightly crazy.
As a kid, she was that cousin, that friend, that sister and daughter, the talker who could spin a tale and make-believe into any little thing so it was no surprise when she found love in reading, and figured all these characters inside her head needed an outlet. They wanted to be heard, so she wrote.
The voices keep growing faster than she gets the time to write.
The stories are never going to end. That’s perfectly okay, though. We never want to stop an adventure.
She writes and loves many different genres so sign up to her mailing list to keep updated on her releases!

♠♠  OUT NOW  ♠♠
The 3rd book in the Beginnings series was released last week, and I’d love to get “you hooked” with some snippets.

Today’s Hook:

Smoothing the lapels of his jacket, he took in the flower arrangements in the chapel. A sense of pride rose in him at how well it’d come together after all. Natasha had been so determined to use roses, but in the end she’d listened to his advice, and chosen November Lilies. They were everywhere, including the bouquet, and the arrangements came off stunning yet humble. Exactly what she’d told him she wanted.
“You did well with the flowers,” Mia whispered into his ear, hauling him back from his thoughts.
“Thanks. I thought so, too,” he replied. “Had to dig deep to remember how to do all of it.”
“Isn’t that your job?” Josh asked.
Josh was Mia’s boyfriend. They’d been going out for the last three years and were still going strong, a major feat considering they were in the strife of their teenaged years.
Jared was tempted to explain the difference between a florist and landscaping to Josh as well, but decided not to.
He didn’t have to, after all.
“He’s a landscaper,” Sophie added to the conversation. “There’s a big difference.”
Jared cocked an eyebrow towards Sophie, who was desperately trying to get her three-year-old daughter, Hope, to drink her milk before her afternoon nap. He knew very well that she never understood the difference either.
Josh chuckled. “Yeah, mate, but green is green, and plants are plants. Right?”

Hello and happy Sunday … Thanks for stopping by.

I’m currently rewriting DEFYING RULES so I introduced you to one of my older stories last week before sharing some snippets of my latest WIP.

Today’s snippet is from “I think I Love You”, book 3 of the Australian Sports Stars series. Enjoy ♥

Although sure he had the rings, panic rose within Markus as he quickly checked his pockets to retrieve the small box.
“Yes, all good.”
“Okay,” Oliver said. “See you in five.”
Markus hung up and smiled at Tyson, who was pacing up and down the small room.
“Where the hell is he?”
“Wouldn’t say.”
“What do you mean he wouldn’t say?” Tyson stared at Markus. “You’ve got the rings, right?”
Markus nodded.
Markus had known Tyson and Oliver for most of his life, since before school. They’d played footy every Saturday and later on during their teenage years hung out together afterwards as well. Yet, after watching a game of soccer, Markus changed sports, and a year later, after spending a few months in the U.S., Oliver had switched to baseball. The youngest of the trio had stayed with football and was one of the most regarded players in the Australian Football League.
Yet, their friendship had remained as strong as the first years and nowadays they caught up on Saturdays to watch cricket or motor racing.
Oliver came into the room. “Sorry for that.”
“You will be. Trust me, I’ll think of something to muck up your wedding day too.”
Oliver snorted, but didn’t reply.
There was a gentle knock at the door and the minister opened the door. “Ready?”
The guys looked at each other and nodded in unison.
“Let’s do this,” Tyson said, with a determination that brought another smile to Markus’ face.
