There he was standing in the middle of her kitchen, talking on his mobile. He held his finger up and mouthed something along the lines of “Sorry, just one moment.”
When he hung up, their gazes met.
Sophie stood still for a moment. A moment that could have been five seconds or even five minutes. She wasn’t sure. With a little mental headshake, she forced herself to focus. “There’s still furniture in the house.” Her voice almost broke. “And you’re still here.”
He cocked a brow. “Is that your way of asking me to leave? Furniture and I are here until not needed anymore. And by the way, honestly, I prefer Mark.”
A small smile came to his lips and made her blush. She just couldn’t figure him out. Good grief, she couldn’t figure herself out. He’d annoyed her for not having been prepared earlier that morning. Yet, at the same time, he was so furiously attractive that her mind went all mushy in his presence.
“Mark. Sorry. It’s just… I mean… the rooms are… I mean, the beds and the sofa. There’s still the telly. Are you sure?” Letting out a big sigh, her shoulders sagged. “This fabulous lady wouldn’t have left us some teabags as well, by any chance? I think I could do with one right now.”
BLURB:
The chance to start life all over with the help of a stranger.
Twenty-two-year-old Sophie Levesque has been guardian to her eight-year-old sister Mia since their mother’s death a few years ago, and it hasn’t been easy. Luck comes their way when they inherit a small house in Hobart. Problem is, though, they don’t know and have never heard of Clara Bellinger, the testator. Settling into their new life, Sophie is still afraid it’s all a mistake.
Mark O’Connor, attorney in Hobart and the bearer of the good news for Sophie and Mia, curses himself for the lack of information about the testator. However, researching the questions gives him an opportunity to see Sophie again, and the more time he spends with the two, the more he realises that his life is missing something. And it’s not his casual lover Linda.
But then there’s Zach, Sophie’s sexy neighbour from across the road… and a very good friend of Clara’s.
Will unravelling the mystery unravel Sophie and Mark’s promise of a future?

– NEW BEGINNINGS is a very emotional read, one that is heartwarming as well as heart wrenching. It gives you hope in the act of human kindness and that good things do happen to good people. I highly recommend this book.
5star Review:
“I’ve always enjoyed Ms. Blobel’s novels, but I adored New Beginnings. This is a feel good story centered on love and hope, Sophie’s dedication to her younger sister, Mia, is incredible. The child is the center of her universe and there’s nothing she won’t do for her. Concerned the recent inheritance is all a mistake, Sophie wants to know more about the woman who gave them a home. Helping her is a drop-dead gorgeous attorney and the handsome, hunky neighbor. Sophie’s journey of discovery is a beautiful one, and when she gets her answers, she finds the last thing she ever thought she would–love. Looking forward to the next book in this excellent series.”
“Wow…what a tangled web we weave! Sophie has got it coming in all directions with the mystery of the testator. These are the type of stories that I love…since it has a bit of everything in it. Not only do we get a bit of a love triangle but add some mystery and thriller to it. Now, that makes a perfect book by Ms. Blobel! But let me remind you that this is nothing new since I find myself always wrapped up in this author’s writing since she writes with emotion and feelings. Whether it be anger, happiness, sadness – you name it…Ms. Blobel gives us the whole package in her stories!”
August Barton could never have mentally prepared himself for his
freshman year of college: not only has his anxiety increased, but his parents are divorcing, his new roommate thinks Augie is the biggest nerd in existence, and his grandma, a retired prostitute named Gertie, has taken to running away from her nursing home. Augie just wants to hole up in his dorm room with his Star Wars collectables and textbooks, but Gertie is not about to let that happen. What ensues is a crazy ride including naked trespassing, befriending a local biker gang, and maybe-just maybe-with Augie defeating his anxiety and actually getting the girl.

DEFYING RULES
This is the second book in the Fermosa Bay series, which, I’m trying to get onto the market as soon as possible.
DEFYING RULES is set along the Australian Great Ocean Road and tells the story of Ethan Tomlin, single dad, and manager of a hotel chain.
This is still a WIP, so critique away.
Thanks … and enjoy 🙂

Ethan loved the view and never got enough of it. He loved the contrast of the blue ocean meeting the luscious green of the forest. The long winding road through gigantic trees was leading right into Fermosa. Because Nick usually struggled with travel sickness coming down this route, it was probably a blessing that Nick was asleep.
Startled by the ringing of the phone, Ethan checked the ID, and pressed the Bluetooth button.
“Ethan speaking.”
“It’s Connor.”
Ethan’s heart sank, not ready, yet, for the conversation he was about to have. Another quick glance to the back told him that Nick was still asleep. It had been hard telling his son the news regarding Jack.
“How are you holding up?” he asked his friend.
There was a moment of silence before Connor finally said, “Emily’s struggling.”
Ethan exhaled a long, deep breath as he turned the corner for another near perfect view over Fermosa.

“Thank you, Clara Bellinger. Thank you, whoever you are,” Sophie said aloud.
All such a far cry from what they were used to in Sydney. All they’d been able to afford had been a single room with the bathroom across the hall — which they’d had to share with other tenants. Another thought popped into her mind, and it was like she suddenly comprehended what she was seeing.
“Mr. O’Connor. There’s still some furniture.”
Silence.
Sophie looked around the doorframe and down the hall. “Mr. O’Connor?”
“I’m in the kitchen.”
Mia appeared from one of the rooms. Sophie took her hand and walked towards the front of the house and into the kitchen. It was equally as beautiful as the rest of the house. It had the same old feeling to it. The cupboards had a pine timber look. The table and chairs near the bay window seemed to be made of the same material. There was a dishwasher and a washing machine. The cooking area had a very old-fashioned stove with pots and pans hanging on hooks from the ceiling. She looked over to the window, which had a wonderful view outside to the front yard. After a long moment of taking in every little bit of the kitchen, she turned and spotted Mark.

A smile tugged at Ethan Tomlin’s lips when he saw his son Nicholas through the rear view mirror in the back of the car. It must’ve been the most uncomfortable position, with his head leaning back against the booster seat, the neck flexed into an awkward position. And yet, he envied Nick for his little snooze. It’d been a bit of a rollercoaster twenty-four hours for them since receiving the bad news from home. Their drive into Christchurch earlier in the morning as well as the three and a bit hour flight back into Melbourne had been draining for both — emotionally as well as physically.
They’d spent ten days in New Zealand exploring the south island in a motorhome. It’d been a great adventure, and Nick had loved the different scenery, the adventures, and even discovered his love for fishing. Out of all places!
A couple of minutes later, Ethan was able to see Fermosa Bay as they emerged from the tunnel of trees. The small town nestled along the curving bay where it met the Indian Ocean. Fishing boats went and came from the sheltered harbour and as he drove along, he watched the stormy clouds along the line where the ocean met the sky. Born and raised in Fermosa, he’d considered it to be the best place to live and an even better place to raise his son.

SIX PACK: EMERGENCE
A DRINK COULD CHANGE OR CONTROL YOUR LIFE
Debut novel for B.W. Morris
What if society was controlled by a drink, but there was another drink that might allow one to change the way things were? This is the question faced by Tyler Ward and his five friends in the new book Six Pack: Emergence.
Tyler is set to graduate from secondary school when he learns the truth about the nation of Novusordo and how the government c
ontrols the population. He and his five friends visit a professor’s house, consume another drink and gain strange powers. Now they find themselves part of a movement against the government and must learn to control their powers and how they might change society. But can they trust the movement… or even each other?
Six Pack: Emergence, a young adult, science fiction, dystopian novel is written by B.W. Morris, a longtime writer for small-town newspapers, though it took him a while to embrace his inner comic book geek and put his overactive imagination to work through novel writing. The novel, published by Clean Reads, is Morris’ debut work, the first in a planned trilogy.
B.W. Morris was born in Texas but grew up in Colorado. He has also lived in New Mexico and Oklahoma and currently resides in Kingman, Kan., a small community 40 miles west of Wichita. Morris is a member of the Kansas Writers Association and loves pizza, barbecue and a good breakfast burrito. He cites the likes of Greg Weisman, George Orwell, Suzanne Collins, Stan Lee and Conor Friedersdorf as inspirations for his writing.
Six Pack: Emergence was released March 28 in ebook format through Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, Kobo, Smashwords and iTunes. You may learn more about the book by visiting Morris’ blog at relaxingwithsixpack.blogspot.com or email him at bwmorris@mail.com.
