#SnippetSunday “Books or no books, I’m still me.” #mustread #MFRWAuthor #amwriting

This is still the story set in Tasmania, Leonie’s attempt to travel around the beautiful Australian state. Today’s snippet is still in Alex’s POV.
Enjoy ♥

“Insecure teenager,” Hans helped her finishing her sentence.
“Oh, for Pete’s sake, you two. Give me a break. Books or no books, I’m still me. I’m still Alex Mattys. Why is everyone treating me differently just because of my books.” Before they were able to reply, he stormed off as he added, “Dad has Mrs. Hamill’s number if you’re still interested. Do as you please.”

Chapter Two

A whoosh of relief rushed through Leonie when she finally arrived in Binalong Bay late afternoon. Hans had given her one of his car and promised her to return the rental the next day. Why she’d agreed to it, she had no idea, but at that moment she had simply wanted to leave, wanted to get away.
Her intentions were to have a break, have some time away from family, friends, colleagues and … and Henry. Especially Henry. She blew out a breath, parked the car in the driveway of the address she’d been given.
After Alex had stormed off, his father had been more than helpful. He’d communicated with Mrs. Hamill as well as given Leonie the keys and directions. She’d been close to turn down the offer, but she didn’t have any other accommodation. Her plan was to stay for a couple of nights until she would’ve found something affordable close by.
Why on earth did she decide to come here? Why didn’t she stay in New South Wales?
