Happy Sunday
Today’s snippet is again from my new story, which follows Piper and Jon.

THANK YOU

Today’s Snippet

“Jon here.”

“Jono. How are you? Where are you?”

A smile tugged at Jon’s lips. He was glad to hear from his friend, Keith. They had a lot to catch up on, yet, Jon also appreciated the distraction from his note-writing adventure.

“I’m in a small place along the Great Ocean Road.”

Keith chuckled. “Must be small. The connection is crap.” He paused. “Tell me, when are you coming home?”

Wasn’t that the million-dollar-question. It’d been ten months since he’d woken up in a hospital barely surviving a heart attack. A heart attack. Him. He was in his mid-thirties and had already Escaped death on his CV.

Thanks for all your comments,
I do appreciate each single one of them!

  1. You never know what’s going to strike you down. A friend’s husband — a vegan and health nut who rode his bike across the country a few years ago — had a heart attack was biking down a quiet side street. We aren’t nearly as in control of our lives as we want to think.

    1. Oh, Ed, I hope he’s okay! It is scary how quickly things can happen. I was sure I was safe fom cancer, considering I never smoked, little to no alcohol, good food the last 10 years, and cancer still knocked at my door. Life works in mysterious ways!
I hope I’ll do the subject justice!

  2. I had a near stroke one day in the middle of the grocery store, went blind in one eye for three hours…yup, things can just come out of nowhere, no matter your age or background re eating, exercise etc. Enjoyed the snippet and definitely made me want to keep reading.

    1. Oh no, Veronica. I’m sorry to hear that.
It just comes out of the blue. I hope you’ve fully recovered from it.
