#SnippetSunday “The same applied to her green eyes.” #Sundayblogshare #Romance

Happy Sunday ♥
I hope you’re enjoying my latest WIP which is set near
Lake Tekapo, New Zealand.
Enjoy ♥

A smile tugged at Dylan Harper’s lips as he sauntered to the centre of the kitchen. “May I assume you’re Ms Jeffreys?”
He took her in. Her wild, curly hair was loosely tied in a ponytail. It was a shade of red he hadn’t seen before and working in the tourism business, he’d seen a lot of people. It was dark, yet bright red. Intriguing. The same applied to her green eyes. Even with the small distance between them, he was drawn to her eyes. Although, with every step he moved closer to her, the same eyes reflected a mix of worry and something else. She was dressed for the environment with her cargo pants, hiking boots, and a warm puffy jacket.
He held out his hand. “I’m Dylan. Teddy Larson’s neighbour.”
Her eyes widened.
With a quick shrug of his shoulder, he explained. “Teddy had to go to Christchurch on short notice and asked me to look after you.”
She arched one of her brows and damn if that reaction didn’t annoy him. Despite the fact that she had a right to. But it in all fairness it wasn’t his fault.
“Sorry for being late. Had a flat tyre out of all days.”

Thanks for all your comments,

  1. Your description, particularly of her hair, works well on multiple levels: to let us know what she looks like, and to point out how closely he’s observing her.

  2. I don’t think she’s quite as intrigued by him as he is by her at this point.

    And possible typo:
hair was loosely tight in a ponytail.
    Should it be:
hair was loosely tied in a ponytail.>

    1. Oops … thank you so much, PT, for the heads up on the typo. Much appreciated.
And yes, both are “checking each other out” 🙂
