#SnippetSunday “Now she wished she’d rented a car.” #Sundayblogshare #Romance

Happy Sunday ♥
I’m abandoning my Diary Story, I’m stuck again.
BUT I hope you’ll enjoy my latest WIP as well.
Enjoy ♥

Again, she adjusted her backpack and pulled a piece of paper out of the pocket of her jacket. Reading the instructions again, she double checked the road name. Worry trickling through her, she stared down the gravel road in front of her. No house anywhere in sight.
Another long sigh as she re-read the email she’d received from the bed and breakfast owner. Travel one and a half kilometre along the road before you come to a fork intersection. Follow the left for another kilometre. The property will be on your right.
Two and half kilometre. Lani did a quick calculation. It’d take her another hour walking there. Now she wished she’d rented a car. She shook her head. No matter how much she wished for a rental, she wouldn’t have been able to afford it. And again, she questioned her decision to come here. She pushed the piece of paper back into the jacket when her hand touched the photo she had inside the pocket as well. It was a photo of her mother and a man. The same man she was hopefully going to meet over the next few days. Reminding herself she was running out of time, she stuffed the photo back into the pocket as well.

Thanks for all your comments,

  1. Rentals are good choices. I haven’t had an issue with a rental yet, knock on wood. Glad you incorporated it into your novel, hope the MC finds some solutions.

    1. Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it. I’ve never had a problem with rentals either … and, yes, she will find a convenient way to get around 🙂

  2. Hmmm, her decision to walk doesn’t seem well advised and now you’ve got me worrying about her, being in such a remote location with no good way to leave either! Great snippet, so many questions.

    1. Not to worry. The story is set in NZ, one of the very few country that one would still consider as safe 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the snippet.

  3. I hope the roads are better-named than the ones I’ve been traveling lately! (Google maps and real life have no connection to one another.) I am curious as to why she’s on her way to the bed and breakfast.

    1. Details for the reasons of her travel will be uncovered soon 🙂 Good to see you “back” !
