#SnippetSunday “Now, don’t freak out again.” #amwriting #book #mustread

Happy Sunday.
I’ve moved on to another WIP. It’s just an idea at the moment, so bear with me for the first few posts.
Enjoy ♥

Today’s Snippet

It was only a ten minute drive home and because Fermosa Bay was such a small place, she’d been along these streets often enough. The coastal town was a safe place, she’d figured that within the only few months she’d lived here. The complete opposite to Sydney. Yet, tonight was different. Unable to stop herself, she kept looking towards the passenger seat and checked the back seats via the rearview mirror. There was no way she was going to check the boot. If the guy was hiding in there, for all she cared, he could get out of there on his own too.
She checked again: passenger seat, then the backseats. Nothing.
Was she going insane in this small place? Was she really this stressed that she was seeing things?
Quicker than usual, she arrived at her house and quicker than usual, she grabbed her bag and rushed inside, slamming the door shut right behind her. It took her a few deep breaths until her heart rate returned to anything close to normal and she switched on the light. She placed her bag on the chest of drawers in the hall before she went into the kitchen for a glass of water. No way would she touch any alcohol tonight. She flicked the light switch and stepped towards the fridge.
“Now, don’t freak out again.”

    1. Thank you. Glad you liked it. I suppose it’s in our nature to sometimes do what we’re told not to 😉
