I hope you’re liking the story so far.
It’s fun to write, yet, challenging at the same time.
Enjoy ♥

Today’s Snippet

She stopped at the edge of the water. “No way am I going in there.”
His laughter echoed slightly through the forest. “Of course, you will.”
She shook her head. “No. It’s freezing cold.”
With a nod, he agreed. “That it is indeed. But you’ll get used to it.”
She shot him a glare. “It’s not whether I will or not, but that I don’t want to.”
“You did have fun as a kid.”
She shrugged. “It’s different when you’re a child.”
“What is different?”
 “Everything.”
He tilted his head with an expression of sincere curiosity. “Define everything.”
She let out a soft huff. “You’re a big pain in the butt.”
He let out a bark of laughter. “Why do you think that?”
“Why do I think what?”
“Why would you think I’m a pain in the butt?”
“Because of all your questions and pushing me to go to places I don’t want to go.”
He let go of her hand, an expression of sadness spreading across his face, then turned and walked towards the picnic blanket and slid into his socks and then his shoes.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m taking you home.” His voice nothing more than a whisper. “I tried, but bottom line is, you’re stuck in your miserable life and holding onto it as if your life dependent on it.”
“I do not have a miserable life. Quite the opposite. I’ve just taken over a medical centre, I have a beautiful house just across the beach.”
He held up his finger in a circling motion “Whoopedoo.”
“Don’t be condescending.” she demanded.

  1. I’m a little sad for him, and a lot sad for her. People really do forget how to have fun. They get so wrapped up in the responsibilities and burdens that come with being an adult. Good snippet!
