My favourite book is Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry. I also adore the sequel, The Streets of Laredo. They’re intricately beautiful, character driven stories.
The favourite I have written is Ella, an Australian historical ‘rural’ romance that pre-published made the finals in every contest she entered and won for the hero Cal an award of his own.

I must admit my favourite book is still “Black Beauty” by Anna Sewell. I probably read it for the first time when I was seven or eight and I’m now seventy years older!

I just read and loved “Breathing Room” by Susan Elizabeth Philips (Available for Kindle here: http://amzn.to/28Y8wIx) I love Ms. Philips depth of emotion as well as the humor she brings to her characters.
My favorite book of all time is still “These Old Shades” by Georgette Heyer ( http://amzn.to/2981WmQ ) The sweeping dramas of Georgian England are described in such rich detail. And the duke is exquisite 🙂
My most recent release, The Debutante Bride ( http://amzn.to/291cMb4 ) has my hero and heroine having to work hard for their happily ever after but it’s all the sweeter for their struggles.

One of my favorite recent reads is He’s in My Dreams – Even though I’m not that into YA, this one is amazing. It’s rife with emotion and really stays with you. Full disclosure, I freelance edited the story, but I promise, I don’t recommend all the books I edit. 🙂

One of my favorite historicals is ‘The Spymaster’s Lady’ by Joanna Bourne. I read the series and this one plus ‘The Forbidden Rose’ were the best.
One of my favorite historical places is the French Quarter in New Orleans. I spent a couple of years doing research and also visiting the Quarter to get a feel for the place before I wrote “To Save a Lady,” which is set during the War of 1812 in the Quarter http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OJF5MFK/ I hope to get the second book in the series finished and published early next year. I had to put it aside when I signed a three book contract but it is almost written and I can’t wait to finish it up.

I really enjoyed A King’s Story by the Duke of Windsor (once Edward VII) who abdicated to marry ‘the woman i love’. It is a pageant of Victorian and later Edwardian England right up to the nineteenth century. Highly recommend.
