Sunrise Chasing the Sun Duet Book 1
by Kaci Rose
Genre: Contemporary Romance
When you’re labeled as a Hollywood Playboy, you can’t do anything right.
I can’t go out for a simple drink without the press having a field day.
And I definitely can’t help my coworker’s wife home when she gets too drunk without the studio threatening my contract.
My manager decides to send me across the country to a small beach town. He rents out the whole Sunrise inn since it’s the off-season, and I’m told to stay out of trouble.
When a steady relationship seems to be the only way to save my career, can I convince Lin, the curvy bombshell inn owner, that pretending to be my girlfriend will be a great PR move for the inn too?
And to make matters worse, a storm washes out the only bridge, leaving us stuck together on the island.
Too bad my heart didn’t listen that this was just a fake relationship.
With my job in Hollywood and my heart at the Sunrise inn, what the hell am I going to do?
This is a Steamy, Fake Relationship, Small Town, Beach Romance. No Cliffhangers. This is Book 1 in the Chasing The Sun Duet. As always there is a satisfying Happy Ever After. If you love steamy romances with insta love, hot love scenes, a bad boy, small towns, and beaches, then this one is for you.
No matter what I’m not opening up my heart again, even if he’s great at warming my bed.
Jasper blew out of town taking my heart with him. He swore he’d never come back. Last I heard he was some famous chef in a big city.
Then I’m at the farmer’s market and there he is in vivid color. So, I do what any sane person would do, I throw a kiwi at him and leave.
Then a storm blows in washing out the only bridge off this island and now we are stuck together.
To make matters worse? My chef quits and the only option I have is to bring in Jasper per his mother’s suggestion.
Oh, and our mayor is trying to turn our small town into a major tourist spot, my best friend is in a fake relationship with a Hollywood Movie Star, and I just saw Jasper with his shirt off.
How did my life get here?
No matter what I’m not opening up my heart again, even if he’s great at warming my bed.

On Christmas Eve, the love of Dara’s life passed away in a tragic accident, leaving Dara with their three-year-old daughter. Though insurance paid for the basics, there wasn’t much left. Now it’s Christmas Eve again, there’s no money for a tree, and everything Dara loves has been sold to survive.

A romance full of hope, so sweet there’s not even a kiss…
I’m Science Fiction author Kayelle Allen. I did a tour in the US Navy, where I climbed around airplanes fixing black boxes that helped pilots find their way home. I wrote my first novel at 18 but to this day, it’s hidden under my bed, where (trust me) it will remain. Gems from it, however, launched several series in my galaxy-wide universe of stories. From childhood, I was the victim of an overactive imagination and inherited the Irish gift of gab from my mother. From my father, I got a healthy respect for mechanical things. Small wonder I write Science Fiction and Fantasy peopled with misbehaving robots, mythic heroes, role playing immortal gamers, and warriors who purr.
I’m a member of RomVets, a group of military and former military women who write romance. In 2014, I was awarded an honorary lifetime membership to the OutlantaCon Science Fiction Convention for support of the convention since its debut. I founded Marketing for Romance Writers (more about them below), and today it has over 7k members. I also lead a writer’s group in my community. Now that I’m retired, I stay busier than ever. I’ve been married so long I’m tenured.

He never expects to find his best friend’s baby sister, Becca, in the center of a powder keg situation at the infamous mobster’s home. With her life on the line, he does the only thing he can think of to save her – he pretends that she’s his fiancée, who knows nothing of his clandestine activities with the criminal enterprise, and stands as her stalwart protector.

Not to mention, the idea of her belonging to him isn’t unappealing, nor is he as averse to the prospect as he lets on. Becca, with her sweet curves and take no prisoners attitude, fascinates him, stirs him, and leaves him craving her submission. Yet his past is fraught with broken dreams and death, so he uses his friendship with her brother as a shield against his yearning to claim her as his own.
Resistance is futile…
However, circumstances soon compel Becca and Quinten to become the most unlikely allies in a deadly game of deception. Now they must depend on one another for survival. As they race to unlock the keys to breaking the case, will Quinten be able to maintain his hands-off policy with Becca? Or will he surrender to the earth-shattering passion and turn their marriage of convenience into the real deal?

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Anya grew up listening to Cardinals baseball and reading anything she could get her hands on. She remembers her mother saying if only she would read the right type of books instead binging her way through the romance aisles at the bookstore, she’d have been a doctor. While Anya never did get that doctorate, she graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with an M.A. in History.
Anya is a bestselling and award-winning author published in multiple fiction genres. She also writes urban fantasy, paranormal romance, and contemporary romance under the name Maggie Mae Gallagher. Pretty much settled into her new home in Appomattox with Brett and his daughter, Sheridan longs for something to keep her busy. That is, until Maddie and her new friend are framed for theft and murder. Not quite the distraction she had hoped for, but she’ll turn over every rock to prove their innocence. In the process, she learns about the powerful Buchanan family and the history of the local community. Will the truth come out before the person calling the shots takes Sheridan and Maddie out of the picture?
An abandoned house, an abundance of dogs. And a dead body or two.
Sheridan Hendley’s volunteer position at Pets and Paws takes a new turn when more than twenty malnourished dogs are found at a rundown house on the outskirts of town. When the body of an elderly woman is found amidst mountains of clutter in the house, a search of the property leads to startling revelations. And another body. While Herman Stoneham’s death is deemed natural causes, his wife’s is not. Where did all the dogs come from and who’s responsible for Justine’s untimely death? Are the two connected? With dogs and murder at stake, Sheridan can’t help but get involved in the investigation.
When a former colleague is implicated in his neighbor’s demise, Sheridan Hendley returns to Cold Creek to prove his innocence. Annoying as Max can be, she can’t imagine the quirky professor is capable of murder. Unfortunately, not everyone shares her opinion. Of course, it doesn’t help that Max threatened his neighbor in a public place soon before the man was murdered. Or that the victim’s drug shipments had a habit of turning up on Max’s doorstep.
Christa Nardi is an accomplished author of cozy mysteries. Christa’s background is in higher education and psychology, much as her protagonist, Sheridan Hendley in the Cold Creek mystery series. She has always loved mysteries – reading them, writing them, and solving them. Christa is a member of Sisters in Crime.

“Everyone that enters your life is there for a purpose, and if you’re lucky, you find the one that changes everything. The way you laugh. The way you think. The way you love.”
–Angela K Parker
Bradley
Sam is my one. When I met her, I knew that she would change everything. Our love was all-consuming. I thought it was unbreakable. We were happy, content, and making plans for our future.
I should’ve known better than to make plans. They always fall apart when I least expect it. Things happen beyond my control. Mistakes are made that are hard to accept, and the love that I feel falls prey to mistrust.
Samantha
Brad is my yellow. I’ve been comforted in the blanket of our love from the moment I let him in.
It was stupid of me to think that nothing would change. I thought that if I ignored the problem, it would go away, but it didn’t. It stalked me, lurking in the distance for a chance to strike. Now everything that Brad and I have built is crumbling, and I don’t know if there is anything that I can do to stop it.
Learning to live with betrayal can prove to be a difficult task. Being able to trust again, can be even harder.
Sam and I have both made mistakes. We’ve both been hurt by the ones we love, but we’ve never hurt each other until now. I know that nothing could ever change my feelings for her. I know that she is meant for me. What I don’t know is how to move past the deception, but I’m doing everything within my power to try.
Samantha
My blind participation in a daring act could possibly cost me everything.
I’ve been over it countless times. I’ve asked myself, why did I let it happen? How could I be so naive? I’ve hurt Brad in the worst way and I don’t know how to fix it. A visit from an old friend does nothing to help matters. It only makes my uncertainty that much stronger, but I refuse to give up on us. I won’t let this be the end.
