Let me ‘hook’ you on book 4 in the Alinta Bay series, which is set along the Great Ocean Road in Australia.
This week’s hook …
by Iris Blobel
The Ranger held up his hand. “Lady from the bakery?”
Lexie gave a slow nod.
“I have a good idea where your car is.” He looked at Zoe and then to Lexie again. “I’ve had a call, though, regarding a road kill which I have to check out first.”
The notion to hop into a stranger’s car was a bit worrisome and not the ideal solution, ranger or not, but it looked like the only way to get back to town.
Use GPS next time. Lesson learnt.

Jesse Parker scratched the back of his neck. The situation in front of him had so many things wrong with it. The fact that the young girl had stopped him in his car in the middle of nowhere didn’t sit well with him, but on the flipside, he was glad she had, because organising a search party wouldn’t have been on his favourite things to do for a Friday afternoon either. God only knew whether anybody would’ve noticed that they’d been gone for a while, considering they were new in town. He made a mental note to ask Melody about the two. She’d given them the directions to the Cook Waterfall carpark; he was sure she’d know a little more about them.
She loves the feel of his skin beneath her hands …
Lexie Marshall packs up and moves 3,000 km east with her daughter Zoe, to forget and move on. Now, all that matters is her daughter and her new job. She tries hard to stay focussed, but the sexy and extremely kind park ranger, Jesse, is not making it easy. And when her husband shows up in the small coastal town creating chaos, all she can do is hang on and trust her new friends.
After his last girlfriend walked out on him, Jesse Parker is doing just fine on his own. Until his accidental meeting with single mother Lexie, when he rescues her and her daughter from getting lost in the forest. But when her past catches up with her, he is right in the middle of it all and it might ruin his career.
Will returning to her old life be the only chance to save his career?

His job is checking out road kill?
Of course, in Australia, I suppose that could be big enough to cause a danger to cars…
A very small part of his job might be to remove roadkill from the middle of the road to avoid accidents … but you should read the story to find what else he finds 😉 ♥
Thanks for stopping by Lisabet 🙂
Nice set-up for a problem to come ahead
Thanks Janet ♥
I looked up images of the Great Ocean Road and it looks absolutely gorgeous! Great setting for a series. And yes, GPS really is useful. 😀 Tweeted.
