I started this story a few weeks ago and I hope you’re enjoying it so far. I’m not sure where it’s heading, so any comments / critique is more than welcomed. I moved a little forward, back into Jesse’s POV – having a beer with his friends, Noah and Harrison.
Enjoy ♥
Jesse choked back a snort. Yes, that was the impression he got as well.
“She went for a walk with Zoe and got lost,” he explained.
Harrison let out a soft snort. “That sounds like Lexie.”
“Is she your new assistant?”
“No, mate,” Harrison replied. “She’s taken on the property law in the company. Impressive feedback already.”
“A lawyer?” Jesse muttered in surprise.
Noah chuckled. “Looks like you’re smitten.”
Jesse flipped him the finger and didn’t bother to reply, because truth be told, she’d been occupying his thoughts all afternoon. He hoped to see her again the next day when Zoe was supposed to help him again at the shelter.
Thanks for all your comments,
I do appreciate each single one of them!

Aha, another way for them to connect. Potential lovers need to spend time together.
Exactly 🙂 Thanks, Ed.
How convenient – she works for the same company. Maybe they can get lost together.
LOL … small town … everybody knows everyone. 🙂
Enjoyed the excerpt. I’m sure it will help that they have a connection through his friend!
It always is a good help when friends know someone 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Veronica.
Hmmm…. I wonder if he had an ulterior motive for inviting Zoe to come help at the shelter…
LOL … I’m sure he did …. Thanks for stopping by, PT.
Zoe helping out at the shelter will allow him to see her mother. May have not been the plan but it definitely works. 🙂
Or it might have been his plan – subconsciously 😉
Thanks for stopping by, Karen.
Why is it guys always flip off their friends when that friend is right? lol Great snippet, Iris. 🙂
Truth hurts … 😉
Thanks for stopping by, Siobhan.
