I’ll continue today with a snippet from ECHOES OF THE PAST, Book 1 in the Fermosa Bay Series. Today’s snippet is back in Connor’s POV. ENJOY ♥

Connor raked his hand through his hair. Duncan was the last person he wanted to talk to, because he knew his adopted father wanted him to make decisions he wasn’t able to make at that moment. Most likely Duncan wanted to interfere with his thoughts, and Connor forced himself to shove away all the questions sitting heavy on his chest, which were gradually overwhelming him. He didn’t want to make any decisions, but to take things a day at a time. He and Jack deserved it.
Breathing in deeply, he ignored the question of how he was, because not only was he sick of people asking him, but also he didn’t have the answer to it. His life had turned upside down the moment his real father had contacted him.
“All good here.”
“Good to hear. Give me a call if there are any legal problems. I’m sure we can get it sorted. After all, Australian and British law are based on similar principles.”
It’s really hard when people, especially people you know care about you, try to push you to make decisions on their schedule, not yours. Sounds like a very tense situation developing. Tweeted.
Thank you, Jenna 🙂
Oh I really like this! What popped out at me was “not only was he sick of people asking him, but also he didn’t have the answer to it.” Too true – people never really want to know, it’s become just a polite way to greet someone, and usually there’s no honest quick answer…
Very true! thanks, Adriana 🙂
Stick to your guns and don’t get pushed into something when you’re not ready to commit to an answer!! Those things always come back to bite you in the backside.
Exactly! Thanks Nancy 🙂
Nothing like feeling like you are forced to feel or act a certain way. Great writing.
Sorry about my post. Somehow I deleted the content. I fixed it, if you’d like to go back. https://momentsfortheheart.com/2023/06/10/weekend-writing-warriors-so-whats-next/
Will visit again 🙂
Thank you, Jeff.
I feel for him. It’s bad enough when you’re dealing with your own emotions without being pressured by other people.
So very true! Thanks Kate 🙂
