Today’s Snippet
He looked down to his hands as he reached for a pen, moving it between his fingers. Apparently, the conversation must’ve reached a stage he was uncomfortable with.
Well, so was she.
“Your account was in both your names, legally he had the right to draw from it as much as he needed. As for the house, well, it was in his name alone…”
He didn’t finish the sentence but let her assume the rest.
Tears stinging behind her eyes, she stood. “When do I have to be out of the house?”
Raising from his chair as well, he replied, “I don’t have the details. That is a question for your husband or the real estate agent.”
She nodded and left. The need to get out of the building for some fresh air was so intense, she let go of all good manners like saying thanks or goodbye. She rushed out his door and through the entrance, no longer able to hold back the tears. She was going to be homeless. No way would she be able to find something decent with a part time job within such a short time.
Thanks for all your comments,
I do appreciate each single one of them!

Well, we now know what’s at stake for her — an awful lot!
Thank you Ed. Yes it is 🙂
Wow. How awful for her. She’s lost everything with no sense of what to do next. I’m ready for more.
Thank you Shari 🙂
Pretty desperate situation indeed. Great, intense snippet!
Thank you Veronica 🙂
That is so horrible to think she will be homeless. How will she cope? I’m curious to know what she will do.
Thank you Karen. Glad I peaked your interest. 🙂
I hope she finds a good lawyer…
Yup … you’re ahead of the story already 😉
