I started this story a few weeks ago and I hope you’re enjoying it so far. I’m not sure where it’s heading, so any comments / critique is more than welcomed. I moved a little forward, back into Lexie’s POV.
Enjoy ♥
Lexie was about to place the phone next to her on the seat, when she remembered the photos she’d taken during the day. Less during the ill-fated walk, but more of Zoe holding the small joey in her arms. She flicked through the pictures, a smile tugging at her lips. In a way surprised at the love and care her daughter had given the fragile animal, yet at the same time so proud of her. There were many photos and one just as lovely as the previous one.
Until she came across one, Zoe must’ve taken. Lexie zoomed in a little. It was a photo of her and the park ranger. Jesse. She zoomed in even more on his face, studied his eyes, and the smile on his lips. With a sigh she closed the phone. Hadn’t she learnt from her mistakes? She’d just hung up the phone on a man who’d cheated on her many times.
Placing the phone in her jeans pocket, she stood and went inside, tired from a long day.
One man had cheated on her, why did she assume all men were like Eric?
To protect her heart. It was as simple as that.
Thanks for all your comments,
I do appreciate each single one of them!

But the ranger took such great care of that sweet little joey. Surely he’s an exception.
I hope she’ll listen to me, ’cause I agree 🙂
I agree with Ed!
LOL … thanks Aurora 🙂
It’s too bad the way the ex has poisoned her mind about all guys! I hate to see her write off the ranger…but I’m hopeful she’ll change her mind soon LOL. Great snippet!
Thank you Veronica … I hope as well that she’ll see the good in him ….
I love that she’s aware of what she’s doing. Makes it easier for her to change her mind.
Hopefully she does 🙂
She has to see that the ranger is different. 🙂
Agree … I’m working on it 🙂
I hope she changes her mind! But I understand where she is coming from.
Thanks, Siren. It’s not easy to trust once you’ve been hurt, I suppose.
