Our first goodbye wasn’t our choice.
Our second was…
What do people say about third chances?

I would never forget the moment I met Noah at six years old,
nor would I forget the way I grew into myself next to him; with him.
I didn’t want to forget the way he kissed me for the first time or the way we were two kids pretending it was okay to do adult things.
What I did want to forget was the reason I walked away… and how he had to let me go.
Loving you had a consequence that was too much to bear.
Now I was an empty shell, half of who I was, who I want to be…
And I came back home after four long years and this time, I knew you weren’t going to let me go.
I’m afraid… because remembering why I walked away from our love in the first place was the hardest part of all.
But in order for you to understand my relationship with Noah, I have to start from the beginning… Before our love had a price, before they called our love “puppy love”, before I fell from grace…

I was the happiest when I was with him.

Funny how my feet felt like lead the days I left you, Noah… But now that I was back, they only felt like running.

This is a standalone romance that tells Grace and Noah’s story starting at age six, but don’t let that detour you from reading their story. This is a book meant for adults, and deals with mature themes. It’s a story about two kids loving each other and proving that maybe when you meet the one, you just know, even if you’re a kid.

Michelle is from a small town in Eastern Kentucky where opossums try to blend in with the cats on the porch and bears are likely to chase your pets—this is very true, it happened with her sister’s dog. Despite the extra needed protection for your pets, she loves the mountains she calls home. She has a man and twin girls who are the light of her life and the reason she’s slightly crazy.
As a kid, she was that cousin, that friend, that sister and daughter, the talker who could spin a tale and make-believe into any little thing so it was no surprise when she found love in reading, and figured all these characters inside her head needed an outlet. They wanted to be heard, so she wrote.
The voices keep growing faster than she gets the time to write.
The stories are never going to end. That’s perfectly okay, though. We never want to stop an adventure.
She writes and loves many different genres so sign up to her mailing list to keep updated on her releases!

♠♠  OUT NOW  ♠♠
The 3rd book in the Beginnings series was released last week, and I’d love to get “you hooked” with some snippets.
Enjoy ☺

Today’s Hook:

Smoothing the lapels of his jacket, he took in the flower arrangements in the chapel. A sense of pride rose in him at how well it’d come together after all. Natasha had been so determined to use roses, but in the end she’d listened to his advice, and chosen November Lilies. They were everywhere, including the bouquet, and the arrangements came off stunning yet humble. Exactly what she’d told him she wanted.
“You did well with the flowers,” Mia whispered into his ear, hauling him back from his thoughts.
“Thanks. I thought so, too,” he replied. “Had to dig deep to remember how to do all of it.”
“Isn’t that your job?” Josh asked.
Josh was Mia’s boyfriend. They’d been going out for the last three years and were still going strong, a major feat considering they were in the strife of their teenaged years.
Jared was tempted to explain the difference between a florist and landscaping to Josh as well, but decided not to.
He didn’t have to, after all.
“He’s a landscaper,” Sophie added to the conversation. “There’s a big difference.”
Jared cocked an eyebrow towards Sophie, who was desperately trying to get her three-year-old daughter, Hope, to drink her milk before her afternoon nap. He knew very well that she never understood the difference either.
Josh chuckled. “Yeah, mate, but green is green, and plants are plants. Right?”

BLURB:
Jared Fraser, a landscape business owner in Hobart, Australia, sets out for a holiday to the USA to travel along the Route 66 in a motorhome. Looking forward to his first holiday overseas, he’s excited as he prepares himself for the journey. But little could’ve prepared him for crossing paths with a beautiful hitchhiker.
Will he be able to put his past aside and grab onto happiness?
Ivy Bennett thought leaving her boyfriend would be the hard part. It doesn’t take long to figure out how wrong she was. As she struggles with making a new start in her life, the last person she expects to lead her to happiness is a laid-back Australian on vacation.
But she will have to say goodbye again. And not only to Jared.

Although sure he had the rings, panic rose within Markus as he quickly checked his pockets to retrieve the small box.
“Yes, all good.”
“Okay,” Oliver said. “See you in five.”
Markus hung up and smiled at Tyson, who was pacing up and down the small room.
“Where the hell is he?”
“Wouldn’t say.”
“What do you mean he wouldn’t say?” Tyson stared at Markus. “You’ve got the rings, right?”
Markus nodded.
Markus had known Tyson and Oliver for most of his life, since before school. They’d played footy every Saturday and later on during their teenage years hung out together afterwards as well. Yet, after watching a game of soccer, Markus changed sports, and a year later, after spending a few months in the U.S., Oliver had switched to baseball. The youngest of the trio had stayed with football and was one of the most regarded players in the Australian Football League.
Yet, their friendship had remained as strong as the first years and nowadays they caught up on Saturdays to watch cricket or motor racing.
Oliver came into the room. “Sorry for that.”
“You will be. Trust me, I’ll think of something to muck up your wedding day too.”
Oliver snorted, but didn’t reply.
There was a gentle knock at the door and the minister opened the door. “Ready?”
The guys looked at each other and nodded in unison.
“Let’s do this,” Tyson said, with a determination that brought another smile to Markus’ face.

The 3rd book in the Beginnings series was released last week, and I’d love to get “you hooked” with some snippets.

Today’s Hook:

He stretched his neck and hooked a finger inside his shirt collar, trying to get more comfortable. In his mind, suits should come with a little warning of Discomfort inevitable or something along that line. No wonder he’d never owned one. Sophie Levesque had helped him choose a nice outfit for the day from a local shop, and he had laughed at her comment that the suit needed to be right. It needed to go along with his brown eyes and dark blond hair, but it also needed to emphasise his physique.
What a lot of nonsense!
When she’d insisted he needed a haircut as well, he plain refused. The amount of time and effort he’d spent on buying a suit for one day was almost beyond his comprehension.

Hello and happy Sunday … Thanks for stopping by.

I’m currently rewriting DEFYING RULES so I’ll introduce you to one of my older stories before sharing some snippets of my latest WIP.
Before I do so … may I show off the cover for my NZ story, which I shared under the title “Fly with me”, now titled “Their Bond Through Jade”? I hope you like it as much as I do.

Markus DeLeon stood in front of Tyson and stared at him. The guy looked good in a tuxedo. A smile tugged at his lips, though, when he saw Ty’s hair.
Markus cocked a questioning brow. “The hair?”
Tyson instantly raked his hand through it to mess it up a bit. “Grandma Hazel,” he said through gritted teeth.
Markus laughed. “Did I just see an eye twitch?”
“Oh man, give me a break here, okay.” Tyson looked away. “And where the hell is Oliver?”
Markus tried his best not to laugh, but failed miserably. He’d known his friend for over twenty years, and Ty’s eye twitch was enough proof for him that his friend was beyond nervous. He couldn’t remember seeing Ty so tense in…well, ever. Not even before any of his important football games.
Then again, it wasn’t every day that one got married to a gorgeous girl. And despite Katie’s best efforts to keep it a low key event, the media was present already outside the church.
Grabbing his phone, Markus flicked through a few names and dialled Oliver’s number.
“Where are you?”
“Give me five minutes.”
“The groom’s nervous.”
Oliver let out a bark of laughter. “It’s his wedding day. Yeah, I’d be nervous, too. Do you have the rings? Katie will kill you, if you haven’t.”

Excerpt
A while later, Alec drove into the parking garage and up to the second level, where his parking space was. Before he pulled up, though, I heard the voices… “Kaden must go! Kaden must go!”
“Fuck,” Alec muttered.
“The garage is your property, isn’t it?”
He stopped the car. “Apparently, they’re fucking morons or they don’t care.”
I rested my hand on his arm. “We’ll just walk through. I’m sure your security staff is already at the door. They’ll keep people back.”
He nodded once, neck tight like a rusted gear. He took a breath and drove forward. Thankfully, no one had decided to block his parking space. He parked, and I stood quickly from the car and was at his side before he got his door closed.
One of his guards approached.
“Don’t engage,” Alec said, “but keep them off Adriane.”
“Yes, sir.”
We followed the guard toward the door to the skybridge. The chanting got increasingly louder. “Kaden must go! Kaden must go!”
One man stepped forward and yelled in Alec’s face. “Piece of shit. Get out of our city!”
I squeezed Alec’s hand as tightly as I could. We walked around the man.
The guard was able to move a couple of other people out of the way, and he opened the door for us.
Then something hit me in the back. I glanced over my shoulder. Yellow egg yolk running down my shoulder and back. I tried to pull Alec forward, but he was already looking at the egg.
His head snapped, and he glared at the man standing behind us. “You goddam fucker.” He stepped toward him. I tried to hold him back, but he was too strong. “What in the hell are you doing throwing eggs at her?”
I managed to get in front of him and pressed both hands to his chest. “Alec.”
He kept yelling. “You have no idea how kind she is, and this is what she receives? Son of a fucking bitch!” he roared.
“Alec, baby.”
He focused on me.
“Please,” I said.
His jaw was tight all the way up to his temple. He took a breath, gaze still carefully focused on me. “Thank you.”
He let me lead him inside. I got him down the hall and around the corner.
His voice wasn’t calm so much as controlled as he talked to the guard. “I want them off my property.” He took his handkerchief from his breast pocket and wiped the goop off the back of my coat.
“We’ve called the police. No one’s come yet.”
“They’re not going to. Murphy’s entirely too pleased to see this happening. Call Vincent; he’ll deal with it.”
“Yes, sir. The guard rushed off. His phone was already pressed to his ear as he turned the corner toward the stairs.

Today’s Hook:

Jared Fraser took in the cheerful and relaxed atmosphere of the packed chapel. Every pew was filled, and ushers did their best showing the guests to their seats. Surprising, because he’d been told it was going to be a small ceremony, with only close friends attending. More surprising, however, that he had received an invitation, since the wedding couple, Zach and Natasha, weren’t even programed into his phone speed dial and there were ten speed dial buttons. Or maybe twelve? He wasn’t sure.
Natasha had come to see him a few months earlier and asked him whether he would be able to help with the floral arrangements.
“Darling, I’m a landscaper, not a florist,” he’d explained.
She’d stared at him with her beautiful dark blue eyes. “Your point is?”
Pinching the bridge of his nose with his finger and thumb, he had replied, “You’ve studied at university. Didn’t they tell you about the difference?”
“Jared. I studied teaching, not botany.”
In the end, he’d given up and simply said yes.
