This week’s hook …
defining moments
by Iris Blobel
Reluctantly, he switched off the shower and snatched his towel before he walked to his locker to dress. As he packed up his gear, the phone fell out of his pocket, and he saw he’d missed a call from Ty. Raking his hand through his wet hair, he remembered he’d arranged to meet his friend at the squash court for a couple of games. He let out a sigh. It was the last thing he’d be able to do considering how much pain he was in already. He threw his stuff in his locker, reached for his bag, and called Ty, who answered straight away.
“Mate, how are you?”
“Need to give it a miss tonight. I had some idiot on a skateboard slam into me last night and I crapped out my shoulder. How about a raincheck?”
Ty’s chuckle annoyed him, but he let it go.
“Make sure you’ll be over on Saturday for the cricket match.”
How could he forget? Watching cricket at Ty’s was something they all enjoyed. “Your place?”

Women want him and he wants them…
Pitcher Oliver Dempsey loves playing baseball for a living, yet, when it comes to his private life, ‘love’ is not in his vocabulary. He likes to keep women at an arm’s length … until he meets Tamara. Unprepared for the attraction he feels towards her, he’s drawn in, even more when told by his coach that she’s off limits. And only Oliver can decide whether she’s worth fighting for.
Tamara Amis moved to Melbourne seeking distance from her past. With the help of her uncle, the coach of a baseball club, she quickly finds a job and a place to live. Yet, one meeting with the handsome pitcher Oliver stirs unexpected emotions that threaten to overwhelm her, despite her best efforts to resist falling for him.
It’s Oliver’s injury that brings them together, but as they find out about each other’s pasts, how can they be ready to share a future?

Hi, Iris,
I’m not much of a sports fan, but he seems more thoughtful than most jocks.
Hope the book does really well.
Thank you Lisabet – on both accounts.
Yes, he’s one of the good ones 😉
Hope his shoulder injury isn’t serious.
Nothing serious, but nothing too good either …. Thanks for stopping by ♥
