TODAY’S SNIPPET:
Later that day, Lexie took her cup of tea and sat on the front porch, enjoying the sunset, its red and orange glow towering across the ocean. It’d been an exhausting day. What had started as a simple walk through the forest had turned into an adventure in many ways. With some contentment, she recalled how much fun her daughter had had at the animal shelter. Lexie had followed the park ranger all the way back into Alinta Bay, and once they’d arrived at the shelter, he’d involved Zoe in each little step to get the joey settled. She chuckled at how much her ten-year-old girl had fussed. Zoe’s eyes had lit up when she saw a couple of kittens, and Lexie was proud of her for how she’d handled them, as well as all the other animals she’d been introduced to.
And then there’d been the park ranger. Jesse. He’d been a wealth of knowledge and he’d also been very patient with Zoe, explaining, and showing her so many things. Lexie liked him and despite her best intentions of staying away from men, she was looking forward to seeing him again the next day when dropping Zoe off to help with the feeding.
She shook her head, reminding herself of the reason she’d landed in Alinta Bay in the first place, which was her broken marriage. Her daughter and her job needed all her attention, not one very attractive park ranger.
Jesse.
BLURB:
She loves the feel of his skin beneath her hands …
Lexie Marshall packs up and moves 3,000 km east with her daughter Zoe, to forget and move on. Now, all that matters is her daughter and her new job. She tries hard to stay focussed, but the sexy and extremely kind park ranger, Jesse, is not making it easy. And when her husband shows up in the small coastal town creating chaos, all she can do is hang on and trust her new friends.
After his last girlfriend walked out on him, Jesse Parker is doing just fine on his own. Until his accidental meeting with single mother Lexie, when he rescues her and her daughter from getting lost in the forest. But when her past catches up with her, he is right in the middle of it all and it might ruin his career.
Will returning to her old life be the only chance to save his career?

I love how this ends. She’s doing a great job of convincing herself that she’s not going to have anything to do with Jesse…for about two seconds.
LOL – or three 😀
Thanks, James
I think Lexie deserves a bit of happiness…
I agree 😉
Thanks, Lisabet 🙂
It’s the way we reason with ourselves. We list the reasonable items first, the ones we can argue make it OK for us to continue this friendship. Then it ends with what we have not been admitting or are afraid to admit: maybe I have a personal stake in this too. Lovely.
Thanks, Lisa. Often, too many “new” things in life can be overwhelming, and we take the “easy” route 🙂
Oh, here’s hoping she resolves the issue and chooses happiness. <3
Thanks, Kayelle … agree 🙂
I think Lexie can manage her job, Zoe, her ex husband and still find time for a sexy park ranger.
I agree 🙂
Thanks, Suzi.
