TODAY’S SNIPPET:
What was his surname again?
Her reveries were interrupted by the ringing of her phone, and she rushed over to the table, grabbed it, and checked the ID. Indecision lingered whether or not to answer the call. She knew, though, she had to be mature about it. With a casual flick on the phone, she inhaled and answered.
“Hello, Eric.”
“Hi, Lexie. How are you?”
She closed her eyes, trying to cope with the wave of nausea his voice caused her. “I’m well, but I’m sure that’s not the reason of your call.”
The sudden silence between them was awkward, but she did her best not to break it.
“How’s Zoe?”
“She’s in bed. It’s been a long day. If you’d like to talk to your daughter you will need to call—”
“I want to talk to you.”
“Eric,” she said on a sigh. “We have nothing to talk about anymore.”
“I miss you guys.”
BLURB:
She loves the feel of his skin beneath her hands …
Lexie Marshall packs up and moves 3,000 km east with her daughter Zoe, to forget and move on. Now, all that matters is her daughter and her new job. She tries hard to stay focussed, but the sexy and extremely kind park ranger, Jesse, is not making it easy. And when her husband shows up in the small coastal town creating chaos, all she can do is hang on and trust her new friends.
After his last girlfriend walked out on him, Jesse Parker is doing just fine on his own. Until his accidental meeting with single mother Lexie, when he rescues her and her daughter from getting lost in the forest. But when her past catches up with her, he is right in the middle of it all and it might ruin his career.

Poor Lexie! I’m sure her ex husband isn’t going to take the hint and just leave her in peace.
Some people never do 😉
Thanks, James.
Oh God! As if she didn’t have enough problems.
But it’s true that if this is the father of her child, she can’t simply erase him.
Well, no, she can’t, but it’s …. a novel. Creative freedom 😀
But she does deal with it in a legally correct way 😉
Just leave her alone, Eric! If she feels sick to her stomach at the thought of speaking to him, it must have been a very bad breakup.
Thanks, Jana.
Well, it couldn’t have been easy otherwise she wouldn’t have moved so far away 😉
A tangled web (not sure who is the spider). She needed one perfect day and a night of dreams!
So true!
Sorry, could only comment here. I want to yell at Lexie,’ Stay away from Eric.’ Well done.
Lol … You’re not the only one Thanks, Suzi
