I’ve been sharing snippets from THEIR BOND THROUGH JADE, a story set in Australia and New Zealand. This snippet is Mat’s POV.
ENJOY ♥
“And what about the idea to move to Queenstown.”
He cocked a brow. “We’re not moving. Staff in Fox Glacier is brilliant. We’re expanding at a nice rate. Now we’d like to expand to Queenstown. It’s my hometown. I’d love to show off where I grew up.”
“I can see why,” she replied with a smile.
“Okay then.” He gave a slow nod. “Okay. Let’s talk figures.” Mat’s knowledge about figures was basic and something he’d learnt over the last few years since he’d started the business with Adam. They hadn’t been able to afford someone to look after their books, so they’d handled the task themselves. Yet, he knew what he wanted, and after two hours of discussing, arguing, and checking numbers, he’d finally come to an agreement with Karen on their first draft. It was now up to their lawyers to settle on the details.
When Tiffany Cahill opens the door to the police, memories of the past return to haunt her. She calls her friend Steve for help, only to be surprised by the voice of a stranger on the other end of the line. She never anticipates the impact this New Zealander is going to have on her life, even more so when she becomes the victim of an assault just a few hours later.
Mat Apanui, owner of a helicopter tour company in New Zealand, can hear the urgency and despair in Tiffany’s voice. They have never met before, but he feels compelled to help her. After an assault on her, he invites her to travel with him to his home in Queenstown, New Zealand, where he believes he can provide her with the temporary safety and security she needs until the situation is resolved.
But can Tiffany overcome her reservations and trust a stranger like Mat enough to fly across the Tasman Sea?
I had to ha Tndle the books for an employer back in the day. Not the easiest thing I’d ever done, so I know where Mat’s coming from. Hope his business does as well as my boss’s did. Tweeted
Thanks, Jenna. Also for the RT 🙂
I’m pulled right in by their subtle chemistry – professional need becoming . . . more. I hated doing the books but it was part of my job. Always made me nervous.
LOL re the books. Numbers don’t lie 😉 Glad you liked the snippet 🙂
Sounds like things are moving along. Personally, I’m not very good with figures. Tweeted.
I love figures. 😉 Thanks for the RT!
