My snippet today will again be from my book “Tell it to My Heart” (free for KU Subscribers), book 3 in the Alinta Bay series. I will start a new WIP very soon. Today’s snippet is in Noah’s POV …
Throwing himself back into the pillow, he tried to sort all the thoughts rushing through his head and deal with the guilt that spread through him.
“You’ve inherited her house and her savings,” he heard Graham saying. “I can call you again in a few days if you’d like me to get everything organised from this end. Unless you’d like to come home.”
Alinta Bay hadn’t been his home for so many years and the simple word sounded so wrong. Alaska was his home and had been for over six years now. And he was happy.
Yet, why did the simple four-letter word have such an impact on him?
“I’ll come home.” He paused, hardly able to believe his own words. Was this simply an emotional reaction or something he intended to do indeed? “Give me a couple of days. It’s shit weather over here, with a snow front on its way.”

Always interesting where the heart thinks is ‘home’. Enjoyed the snippet!
Often it’s hard to let go of “home” no matter how happy you are where you currently are 😉
