Today’s Snippet

Half an hour later, he’d conquered the traffic in Alinta Bay, found the local grocery store, and bought what he needed for the next few days. As much as he managed driving on the left side of the road, his ability to convert back as a pedestrian was obviously not as easy. Occasionally, he stepped in front of an oncoming car, not realising he was looking the wrong way. He shook his head and had a little chuckle.

Back in his grandmother’s house, Noah hadn’t even closed the door when a subtle sound echoed through the hallway telling him Molly had returned. Something inside him stirred. He was glad she’d accepted his offer to stay here, but he knew it’d also been selfish. The idea of being alone in this old house didn’t sit well. But why? Solitude was his best friend. Was he hoping to find out a bit more about his grandma? A chill went down his spine when memories of his childhood flooded him. The lump in his throat made it hard for him to breathe.
