Happy Mothers’ Day ♥

I have moved forward a little into Jonathan’s POV. I hope you liked last week’s snippet of Piper’s story, which is another Alinta Bay book.
If you did, please feel free to check out the first books here.
Enjoy ♥

Today’s Snippet

That didn’t quite compute with him, but he was too tired to care. He had somewhere to stay for the next week. Not the hotel room he had hoped for, but considering the circumstances, he was glad he had somewhere to stay. And on short notice he’d decided to stay for the competition. Possibly have a surf as well. The town looked okay and it’d be good to catch up on a few things.

Jon had been on the road now for five months, enjoying his travels across the country. Obviously, he’d heard about the Great Ocean Road and its world-famous surf beach, so, of course, he wouldn’t let the opportunity go by.

And even if the other cabin was going to have a guest in it as well, it’d wouldn’t hurt him to share a bathroom, after all, a few months ago he’d stayed at a hostel and had to share a bathroom with about half a dozen people.

Thanks for all your comments,
I do appreciate each single one of them!

The Cold Case

Billy Jo McCabe Mystery Book 3
by Lorhainne Eckhart
Genre: Mystery, Thriller

What happens when you stumble across a case that should never have been closed?
Detective Mark Friessen uncovers a disturbing mystery: A little girl was taken, but when evidence disappeared, the case was closed.
While cleaning out closed cases, Mark discovers a file on a missing toddler, Gabby Martin. After reading the two pages within, he realizes evidence is missing. The only interviews, by the detective who previously had Mark’s job, was conducted with a bitter ex-wife and a former business partner, both of whom pointed at the father.
It appears to have been an open and shut case. The father took Gabby in retaliation for a bitter custody dispute with her mother, and then he killed her. Although no body was found, the father was charged and convicted, and the case was closed.
However, an old woman the town has dubbed Crazy Carla disagrees. She says she saw everything, and she contradicts the investigating detective’s notes, yet the local cops pursued only one lead, the father.
As Mark secretly delves into the closed case and realizes that nothing adds up, he reaches out to social worker Billy Jo McCabe. Did social services receive any suspicious reports about the girl or her parents? What Billy Jo soon discovers is a family of secrets, a volatile marriage, and a forbidden relationship—and the mystery of the missing girl, whose body has never been found, becomes a case that should never have been closed.

SYNOPSIS:

Some scars go further than skin deep…

1988 doesn’t end well for Jessica Abraham. In just one week she turns thirty, loses her day job, and loses the role of Ophelia to a younger actress. Rallying, she goes after a part at a theater outside of the city, but the director’s plan to hide her beauty behind hair, makeup, and wardrobe from Cosmo’s “Don’t” column shakes her confidence to the core.

For the first time in her acting career, she won’t be able to rely on her carefully managed physical charms. Only her craft will count.

On a snowy night early in January 1989, a woman calls into DJ Callihan Alonso’s alt-rock radio show at the end of her commute. He asks her to call back the next night, and the next, just so he’ll know she’s home safe. There’s something about her voice that has him wanting more, but the longer they talk, the closer she gets. Compromising each and every wall he’s built around his heart.

If two lonely people fall in love over late-night phone calls, will meeting face-to-face make them, or break them?

In this heart-rending but happy-ending retro rom-com, it may be the end of a decade,

but it’s the beginning of a love story.

Happy Wednesday everyone.

I hope you enjoyed the snippets from the first book of series “Beginnings“, which is free on Kobo.
Today, I’d like to hook you with the second book More Beginnings. I hope you’ll like the story just as much.

FREE on ~ Google Play ~ Kobo

Today’s Hook:

“I swear young lady, one day you’ll have a tummy like this—” Sophie clutched her hands over her pregnant stomach. “—and I will make fun of you.”
Mia stepped towards her sister and gave her a hug, though with great difficulty. The eight-month-pregnant tummy was very pronounced.
“You’re late.”
“For what?” Mia asked her sister with eyes wide.
Sophie managed to reply through stiff lips. “From school!”
Hands on hips, the young girl stood in front of her sister.
“You’re getting way too hormonal, Soph.” Letting out a long breath, she continued, “I went over to see Zach. I wasn’t sure whether you might have forgotten to tell him about sports day tomorrow.”
Mark laughed behind them, and they both turned to glare at him.
“What?” he asked with his arms up defensively.

BLURB:

Zach Taylor, an escort in Sydney, living in Hobart, enlists the help of Natasha Peterson when his teenage friend, Mia, runs away. He soon finds out that the ‘dragon’ is really more of a kitten. And although Natasha, Mia’s teacher, is attracted to him as well, she has her own problems to deal with, not to mention her initial reaction to Zach’s occupation.

Will Zach’s job keep him from a chance to be with Natasha?

Life is good for teenager Mia Levesque. But when Darren Schuster shows up in Hobart, she knows something is up once Sophie and Mark cut their weekend away short and rush home in the middle of the night. When Sophie won’t answer Mia’s questions, emotions run high, and Zach confirms Darren’s identity to Mia. Disappointed, angry, and feeling alone, Mia runs away.

Will life settle back into a routine for Mia once she finds out about the stranger in her life?

New Beginnings have given the Levesque girls a new start in life, will More Beginnings be another chance for them?

Today’s Snippet

Jon stepped into the reception of the caravan park where a middle-aged woman looked up with a smile.

“How can I help you?”

“Hi. Ella from the local hotel just called regarding a booking of a cabin. My name is Jonathan Fuentes.”

She nodded. “Mr Fuentes. Yes. You’re lucky. This is the last cabin available.”

He reached for his credit card. “So I’ve heard. Apparently a big surfing event starting tomorrow.”

A genuine smile spread across her face, which took around five years of her face. Not to mention that it was contagious, because now he had a smile on his lips as well.

“The event only happens every two years, but when it does, it’s quite a buzz in town.” She entered his details into the system and said, “I hope Ella explained that this cabin is privately owned and shares a bathroom. No one is in the other cabin. So you won’t have a problem.”

#BookTour “Cowboys Down Under” by Kay Maree – @MisKay85 @SDSXXTours

Cowboys Down Under Book 1
by Kay Maree
Genre: Australian Cowboy Contemporary Romance

Cora

I was 5 when I went into the system, and I was the girl that nobody wanted, not even the mother that birthed me.
You break, being passed off from one place to another.
Every couple of months someone else proving to you once again how unlovable you really are. Each move took just a little bit more of me, a little more of my soul. My reason for living became less each time I was sent back to the agency to wait for a new family to take a chance on me. My whole life, my world was carried around in a trash bag, but what people forget to mention is that that bag breaks too never to be repaired again, just replaced with a new one.
You wait for that day that one will tear too just as much as you do, but just like many stuck in the system I was overlooked and pushed aside when I wasn’t needed anymore.

My life was in pieces… My world torn apart once again.
What did I have to lose taking a trip to the country?
Then I met him…
Nash Steel…
Rugged, Sexy and Alpha to the core with piercing grey eyes that have a smoky quality to them that I wouldn’t mind getting swept away in.

But will he hold on with both hands and cherish every minute, or throw it all away the minute he gets bored with me?

Decisions… Decisions… Is he worth the risk?

Nash

I was never interested in finding a woman before.
I was happy with the land I shared with my parents, wrangling the cattle and riding my horse, but a few hours with Cora has me wanting to change my whole world to fit her into it.
Smiling, shit is about to change big time and I can’t fucking wait.
Little Miss Cora Hope better get ready to hang on tight because I’m coming for her, and I don’t think I will ever let her go once I wrangle her and brand that ass as mine.

Operation make the girl with the mood ring eyes fall for me commences…

Cowboys Down Under Book 2

Lucy

Ever since I was 16 years old, I have struggled to work out where I belonged in this world.
Then I meet him…
Lucas Knight…
My little heart swooned and to be honest, who’s heart wouldn’t when meeting him?
He was well over six feet tall, muscled, with dark windswept hair and a hard sculptured jaw that could have been made by the gods themselves.
Piercing blue eyes that took the breath right from my lungs as they seemed to zero in on me and my every movement.
He is the one person I know I am meant to spend the rest of my life with.
It’s just a shame he doesn’t feel the same way.

Everyone yearns for the light of the day, the sun signifies the start of a new beginning but deep down I crave when the night comes, the soft glow of the moon as the stars brighten up the velvet night sky brings something inside me alive and all I want to do is throw my head back and howl at the moon.

It’s hard loving someone that thinks your invisible.

Lucas

Lucy Jacobson = End Game.
I’m too old, too dominant for someone like her.
She is innocence coated in Sass…
Her beauty and the light that lives inside her shouldn’t be harnessed.

So why the fuck do I want to be the one to capture her and never go?

Today’s Hook:

On the tips of her toes, she leaned forward and gave him a kiss on his cheek. “All set for the weekend?”

With a wink Mark replied, “I am. Not sure about your sister, though.”

Mia snorted. “Why doesn’t that surprise me?” She walked past him and into the kitchen. “What’s for dinner?”

“Pizza.”

“She burnt dinner again?” she asked as she turned to look at him.

“I heard that,” came a voice from down the hall.

Mark and Mia shared a quick grin as they watched Sophie waddle down the hall. The pregnancy had been easy on her. At least as easy as it could be. Mia studied her as she came closer, and a thought popped into her mind. She quietly hoped for the baby to inherit some of her sister’s blond hair and dark brown eyes. With all of Mark’s pampering over the previous few years, her sister looked great in her late twenties.

“Baby’s giving you problems again?” Mia asked with as much concern as she could come up with.
