TODAY’S SNIPPET:
A grin spread across Noah’s face. “Must be true then. If you didn’t, you’d move hell on earth to get rid of her, instead you’re about to run after her.”
Harrison flipped them the finger and crossed the road without another word, walking towards his mother’s bakery. The streets weren’t busy, which wasn’t uncommon during winter in Alinta Bay with only the occasional tourist driving through.
Harrison had lived in the small coastal town in Australia all his life and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. He would often listen to Noah’s stories about living in California and Alaska, and an interest to travel stirred in him, but bottom line was, he was a small-town boy through and through, loving the local community with its advantages as well as its flaws.
With more force than intended, he pushed the door open to the bakery where John, one of his mother’s staff, greeted him from behind the counter. “How are you, Harrison?”
“All good. How are you? Is Mum around?”
“Lisa left less than five minutes ago. With Melody. She’s back in town.”
