Hi everyone ♥
I’m continuing with Snippets from BETWEEN GOODBYE AND HELLO, the third book in the ALINTA BAY series, moving into Melody’s POV today.
If you’re a KU subscriber, please take a moment to check it out as well as the first two books in the series: “DEFYING RULES” and “TELL IT TO MY HEART”
♥ ENJOY ♥
TODAY’S SNIPPET:
Melody should’ve known she wasn’t able to hide something like that from Lisa. She’d often surprised her by her intuition. “It’s been very kind to me so far.”
Lisa placed her hand onto Melody’s. “Will you keep it?”
She didn’t hesitate with the reply. “Yes, I will keep it. No matter what. That’s why I’ve returned here. There’s not a nicer place I could think of to raise a child.”
“What about the father?”
Melody pressed her lips together as her gaze went out towards the horizon again as she thought of Mick. There’d been no doubt in her mind, he wouldn’t have been happy about the news, but his reaction, as well as his family’s, had stunned her. And had shaken her to the very core.
“I can do it without him.”
“Please tell me, though, that he knows.”
Melody gave a slow nod, but didn’t speak. Calm spread through her body when Lisa gave her hand a soft squeeze.
Only a short while later, she watched her friend walk back along the road and presumably back to the house, feeling torn inside. Torn between the joy of carrying a baby, and sadness at the knowledge that it would grow up without a father. With a deep sigh, she closed her eyes for a moment. The cool breeze of the ocean hit her face, leaving goose bumps pebbling down her arms. One last glance over the water and she stood to return to the house as well.
Already from the distance, she spotted Harrison in front of the house. Slowing her steps, she shot him a glare, which he met dead on. She was sure her heart skipped a beat, and it annoyed the hell out of her. Her feet didn’t move despite how much she wanted them to. And damn it, if there wasn’t something in those green eyes that drew her in. That moment passed quickly, however, and he rushed past her down the street almost bumping into her.
BLURB:
Can two seemingly incompatible people who judge each other on past events be able to find some common ground?
Harrison Hendrix believes in second chances, but when it comes to Melody, he has every reason to doubt it’s possible. He’s conflicted when he sees her back in town and tries his best to see the change in her that other friends mention. Even more so when spending a night with her after being set up for a dinner date.
Life hasn’t been kind to Melody Foster, and she returns to Alinta Bay for a new beginning. Hit by tragedy again, she’s determined to live life to the fullest and with no regrets. She creates a bucket list … on which #8 the very difficult, yet extremely sexy Harrison has been included. Why does it seem he’s always around when she’s in trouble?
Maybe it’s time to take a risk and leave the past where it belongs, but will trusting their instinct be the right choice for them?

Great except! I’m afraid to think how terrible the father’s reaction must have been!
Thanks, James. Some are just not ready for parenthood or simply don’t want to 😉
Ouch. He certainly is prickly!
Yep, he is … possibly a little in denial as well? 😀
This sounds like trouble brewing – but knowing your books, they’ll come through.
Aww, thank you, Kayelle. Appreciated!! 🙂
