TODAY’S SNIPPET:
Melody Foster could feel Harrison’s stare on her as he leaned against the kitchen bench and some discomfort trickled down her spine, leaving her self-conscious.
Lisa stepped closer to the table. “You remember Harrison, don’t you, Melody?”
Not able to take her eyes off him, she simply nodded. He hadn’t changed and still looked as sexy as a when she’d lived here with his tangle of brown hair like a surfer, piercing green eyes, and a few freckles on his face, which made him look ridiculously and boyishly handsome at the same time. But the expression on his face was serious. Not even a twitch of his lips.
Lisa’s words startled her. “I’m not sure, though, what happened to his manners today. I apologise.” She glared at her son.
Melody met Harrison’s green eyes. “Nice to see you again.”
“I’m not sure I can say the same.”
Her gaze went out the window to the sea, and she heard Lisa’s reprimand only in the distance. Enjoying the scenery of the waves coming and going, she let her mind wander. She loved it here in Alinta Bay. She’d fallen in love with the small coastal town last year, but had obviously not been ready for the life in a small community. For the care and kindness amongst the people. Arriving here, she thought she’d been a free spirit. Live and let live. Come and go, and the pieces would eventually fall into place. How wrong she’d been. There was no doubt she’d been careless and selfish.
BLURB:
Can two seemingly incompatible people who judge each other on past events be able to find some common ground?
Harrison Hendrix believes in second chances, but when it comes to Melody, he has every reason to doubt it’s possible. He’s conflicted when he sees her back in town and tries his best to see the change in her that other friends mention. Even more so when spending a night with her after being set up for a dinner date.
Life hasn’t been kind to Melody Foster, and she returns to Alinta Bay for a new beginning. Hit by tragedy again, she’s determined to live life to the fullest and with no regrets. She creates a bucket list … on which #8 the very difficult, yet extremely sexy Harrison has been included. Why does it seem he’s always around when she’s in trouble?
Maybe it’s time to take a risk and leave the past where it belongs, but will trusting their instinct be the right choice for them?
