Hi everyone ♥
I hope you’ve all enjoyed the snippets from my New Zealand–set book, WHISPERS OF HER MEMORIES.
Today, I’d love to revisit one of my ALINTA BAY books —
BETWEEN GOODBYE AND HELLO.
If you’re a KU subscriber, please take a moment to check it out as well as the first two books in the series: “DEFYING RULES” and “TELL IT TO MY HEART”
♥ ENJOY ♥
TODAY’S SNIPPET:
Harrison Hendrix stared towards the bus, the fresh late winter breeze off the ocean cooling the sweat on his back from the jog with his cousin, Logan, and his half-brother, Noah, the fine beach sand sticking to his legs. He wiped his forehead with the back of his hand, unable to comprehend. Finally, he blinked a couple of times as his brain caught up to what he was seeing: Melody was back in town. What the hell was she doing in Alinta Bay, and why on earth had she returned after all this time?
“What’s up, mate?”
Still in disbelieve, he turned to Logan. “I think I’ve just seen a ghost. At least I hope so.”
Noah placed a hand on Harrison’s shoulder. “Say what?”
With his hands on his hips, Harrison nodded towards the bus stop.
Logan shaded his eyes with his hand. “Is that Melody? Did you know she was back?”
“Last I heard from her was in January when she called and asked for Mum’s bank details to transfer some money that she owed.”
Noah scratched his chin. “Who’s Melody?”
Harrison looked around, realising that his half-brother had no idea who he was talking about. “Melody used to work for Mum in the bakery. She’s about the weirdest person ever. Dresses oddly, listens to the sixties music, and the hair, good Lord, the hair—”
BLURB:
Can two seemingly incompatible people who judge each other on past events be able to find some common ground?
Harrison Hendrix believes in second chances, but when it comes to Melody, he has every reason to doubt it’s possible. He’s conflicted when he sees her back in town and tries his best to see the change in her that other friends mention. Even more so when spending a night with her after being set up for a dinner date.
Life hasn’t been kind to Melody Foster, and she returns to Alinta Bay for a new beginning. Hit by tragedy again, she’s determined to live life to the fullest and with no regrets. She creates a bucket list … on which #8 the very difficult, yet extremely sexy Harrison has been included. Why does it seem he’s always around when she’s in trouble?
Maybe it’s time to take a risk and leave the past where it belongs, but will trusting their instinct be the right choice for them?
