Happy Wednesday everyone.
I’d like to introduce you to book 2 in the Alinta Bay series
TELL IT TO MY HEART
which is now available on AMAZON for 99c .
I hope you’ll enjoy today’s “hook”, which is in Noah’s POV.

Today’s Hook:

“Isn’t she in France?”
“Not anymore, it seems.”
“Shit.”
Graham choked back a snort. “Not the word I’d use, but I agree.”
Noah ignored the subtle chide. “Is that something you’ll work on?”
“Yes.”
Noah hesitated, not sure what else to say. “Okay. I’ll see you soon.” He hung up and snatched a piece of paper from his desk to jot down all the things he had to do in the next twenty-four hours.
Not much time.

BLURB:

Confronted with the choice to care for his friend’s family on the other side of the world or to return to Alinta Bay to be with his own newfound family, how will Noah choose?

Following the death of his grandmother, Noah Fielding returns to Alinta Bay and the first thing — or person — he finds is the next-door neighbour in his nan’s bathroom — naked no less. Still jetlagged, he doesn’t hit it off with Molly at first. Yet, over the next few weeks, as his past uncovers itself bit by bit, she becomes is anchor, his friend, and his lover.

Molly Reid had the world at her feet, happily married with a young son … until a tragic car accident took everything away from her. With her heart broken, she moves to Alinta Bay to escape the memories of the past. Her peaceful existence, however, is interrupted after a heavy storm floods her house and she temporarily moves into her recently deceased neighbour’s house next door.

When Noah’s friend and partner goes missing during a routine flight, Noah returns to Alaska to help, but will he come back for Molly?

“This blood-pumping novel will keep the reader hooked until the very end.” InD’tale Magazine

“Do yourself a favor and grab a copy of this wonderful book and fall in love.” (5 star review)

Mat is a sexy, tattooed New Zealander with a strong sense of family and duty and Tiffany is a woman with a past that continues to haunt her. Can Mat help her overcome her demons and move on with the next phase of her life? Come for the romance and stay for the breathtaking scenery. (5 star review)

4 stars – NEW BEGINNINGS is a very emotional read, one that is heartwarming as well as heart wrenching. It gives you hope in the act of human kindness and that good things do happen to good people. I highly recommend this book.

Happy Sunday. I’ve moved on from my Tassie story and would like to introduce you to yet another Alinta Bay couple. Jonah and Maddie.
Enjoy ♥

“Not sure why he wouldn’t be, but, yes, he’s a fine specimen of an adult.”
“May I talk to him?”
Maddie turned to look at Jonah with raised brows. He hitched a shoulder in question as well, but moved closer to the panel again.
“I’m here.”
“Thanks. Could you try to open the doors?”
Jonah cocked a brow, but before he could reply, Maddie piped up, “You do know this is sexism, right? You could have asked me that too.”
Out of all people, he had to be stuck in a lift with a person who walked the path of political correctness. Yet, Jonah remained silent, he wouldn’t dare to step into that conversation. Instead, he moved his hand to point at the doors. “Be my guest.”
There was some static noise from the panel. “Maddie, it has nothing to do with sexism but with the fact that I needed to talk to Jonah as well. It’s not just about finding out what can be done but also what your state of mind is.”
She blew out a massive sigh and slouched her shoulders. “I know you’re right and I do apologise. I just feel so helpless.”
Jonah gave her a wink. “Let’s tackle the task together.”

Today’s Hook:

“Fu… Sorry, buddy. You know it’ll take you close to a week to get there this time of the year.”
He chuckled. Yes, he was aware of it. “It’s not that bad. I will need you to fly me to Anchorage and I’ll hitch a flight from there.”
“Shit. Let me check the weather forecast, and I’ll get back to you.”
“Thank you, mate. I owe you.”
“Hey, and I’m sorry about your grandma.”
“Thanks, Dean. It’s important for me to be at the funeral. She was the one who took care of me after Mum left.”
A heavy silence hung between them for a long beat until his friend picked up the conversation again. “No problems, buddy. We’ll make it work.”
“Thanks. I really appreciate it.”
He hung up, checked the weather as well, and hoped he was going to be on his way home the next day. A thought popped into his mind, and he reached for his phone again. Graham answered almost straight away.
“Sorry Graham, I’m not really sure about the time difference, but I have a quick question.”
“Shoot.”
The short answer made Noah believe it must have been some ungodly hour in Australia. “Does my mother know?”
Graham blew out a breath. “No. I’m sorry, but I haven’t tracked her down, yet.”
That surprised him. After all, the lawyer had been able to track him down in Alaska. “Isn’t she in France?”

Happy Sunday. I’ve moved on from my Tassie story and would like to introduce you to yet another Alinta Bay couple. Jonah and Maddie.

“Thanks. What is your name Ma’am?”
“I’m Maddie. Actually, it’s Mandika, but everyone calls me Maddie. Maddie Torres. And we’re stuck in a lift. In Alinta Bay. That’s in Victoria.”
Jonah cocked a brow, crossed his arms, and despite the situation they were in, a touch of amusement tugged at his lips.
“The two of you and nobody else?”
Jonah was certain the security guy had to hold back on his mirth as well.
Maddie’s forehead creased into a frown and she shot Jonah a glare that took all of his amusement in an instant. Focussing on the panel again, she replied, “Yes, it’s just the two of us. Isn’t that enough.”
“Apologies, Ma’am. It most certainly is.”
She rolled her eyes, but remained silent.
“Could you tell me whether the light is still on?”
She blinked, and he had to admit, he didn’t see the point to the question either. He gave her a shrug, but with a little nod encourage her to answer.
“It’s basically dark, except for a dim light.”
“Thanks,” the electronic voice said. “May I ask if Jonah is an adult?”
Turning towards him, she took him in, very slowly, and yes, it was close to awkward. “Not sure why he wouldn’t be, but yes, he’s a fine specimen of an adult.”

Today’s Hook:

Switching on the light, he stood and headed into the living area where he threw wood on the fire. He might as well stay awake. After he’d dressed, he made himself a cup of tea and then booted up his laptop. He loaded pictures of Alinta Bay and his lips quirked into a smile as he reminisced about his childhood days. Slowly images of picnics with his grandmother and afternoons at the beach on his surfboard with friends returned, bringing a smile to his lips.
He checked the time. It was half past seven, and he reached for his phone. A few seconds later, his best friend answered the call.
“Buddy, what’s up?”
“Morning, Dean. I’ll need to head back to Australia for a week or two.” Noah had an idea of his friend’s thoughts and added, “My grandma died.”

It took him a moment until he understood her attempt to humour the situation. Letting out a soft chuckle, he stood. “There has to be an emergency button.”
Maddie stood as well, but was still unsteady and reached for his arm. “Good thinking.” She reached for a mobile, gave it a flick and pushed a few buttons. “How the hell can you not have any connection in here?”
He raised his brows. “Are you okay?”
She pulled in her lips and inhaled deeply before she replied, “This lift should’ve been on his journey down by now if this were only a little hiccup.”
An eerie feeling trickled through him. A feeling of worry that she was putting on a front or was slowly starting to panic.
“Have you pushed the emergency button, yet?”
He nodded and moved towards the lift controls, hitting the red button again.
“No response?”
Taking a few calming breaths, he tried again, yet, this time a lot gentler. A red switch lit up and a static voice asked, “Triple C Security. What’s your name?”
Maddie stepped next to him. “His name is Jonah.”

Today’s Hook:

Yet, why did the simple four-letter word have such an impact on him?
“I’ll come home.” He paused, hardly able to believe his own words. Was this simply an emotional reaction or something he intended to do indeed? “Give me a couple of days. It’s shit weather over here, with a snow front on its way.”
Graham chuckled. “You’d better get used to the idea of returning with your summer clothes. We’re currently dealing with a heat wave here.”
Rubbing his face with his hand, Noah smiled. He remembered those hot days during which he’d surfed the ocean. “I’m sure I’ll find some shorts and a T-shirt.”
He disconnected after promising Graham to stay in contact and send him the details of his arrival. It was going to be hell to get out of this place this time of the year.
He closed his eyes and tried to remember Alinta Bay. The small coastal town he had grown up in. Tried to remember the house he lived in with his grandmother, but as much as he wracked his memory to come up with something, it eluded him. Except for the bright green carpet along the hall and in his room. He choked back a chuckle. Out of all things, that was stuck to his brain. Of course, he also recalled the old, beaten up car. How could he forget? It’d always been touch and go to get the engine started.

“Are you okay?”
As soon as the words had left his lips he cursed himself for such a stupid question. Of course she wasn’t. Judging by her shaking hands and the erratic breathing she was far from being okay.
Gently, he place his hand over hers and as calm as possible, he introduced himself. “I’m Jonah. Please let me be your friend until we get out of here.”
Hesitantly, she lifted her head and met his gaze. Ever so slowly a small smile crossed her face. “Nice meeting you, Jonah, although it would’ve been nicer under different circumstances.” Her voice was nothing more than a whisper. She blew out a long breath and said, this time with more spark, “I’m Maddie, by the way.”
“Nice meeting you.”
Her deep blue eyes were like a magnet and he couldn’t help himself but stare … until she clicked her fingers in front of his eyes.
“Earth to Jonah.”
He shook his head slightly. “Apologies.”
“I said, I hope the local police didn’t upset a retiree by just giving him the traditional golden watch.”

Today’s Hook:

He swung his legs to the side of the bed and sat up. “Late?
“My apologies, Mr. Fielding, your grandmother passed away two days ago. She had pneumonia from which she didn’t recover.”
He held onto the phone like his life depended on it and for several long seconds stared into the darkness. A pain settled in his chest and instinctively he rubbed it with the palm of his hand. “Shit.”
He almost missed Graham’s words, which were spoken in a hushed voice. “My condolences.”
Throwing himself back into the pillow, he tried to sort all the thoughts rushing through his head and deal with the guilt that spread through him.
“You’ve inherited her house and her savings,” he heard Graham saying. “I can call you again in a few days if you’d like me to get everything organised from this end. Unless you’d like to come home.”
Home.
Alinta Bay hadn’t been his home for so many years and the simple word sounded so wrong. Alaska was his home and had been for over six years now. And he was happy.
Yet, why did the simple four-letter word have such an impact on him?

Happy Sunday. I’ve moved on from my Tassie story and would like to introduce you to yet another Alinta Bay couple. Jonah and Rachel.

Jonah Davies rushed down the hallway and just made it into the lift before it shut behind him. He pressed the button to get to the ground floor, turned, and stood in the corner. The young woman next to the door glanced at him, but quickly moved to stare at the closed doors again.
“Sorry about that,” he offered as an apology, but didn’t get anything in return except an almost imperceptible nod.
His gaze fell to the ground, trying to figure out the strange pattern of the carpet but mostly to ignore the awkward silence. Her sudden sneeze echoed through the little cabin like thunder.
“Bless you.”
Again, she gave him a quick glance and muffled a, “Thank you.”
Obviously, nothing had changed over the last ten years since he’d moved away from Alinta Bay. He’d disliked the place so much in his teenage years that he’d left and started his adult life in New Zealand.
Why had he come back?
Before he was able to find an answer to his own reservations of being here, an abrupt jolt threw him off balance and he plastered his hands to the walls to steady himself. Startled by the darkness, followed by flickering dim lights, he inhaled a couple of deep breaths to calm his racing heart.
He knelt in front of the woman, who crouched on the floor, arms wrapped around her legs. “Are you okay?”
